Isabeau of Future Unsettled Horsemanship was showing Gabe and I the first steps of side passing on the ground. She has such a kind energy that shows a horse what she’s asking without being demanding or pushy. And that kindness is shown to the people she’s instructing as well! What a fun day of playing musical ponies while laughing and learning!!!

I love Isabeau and I love Kilorn. It was so fun to be silly goofy and work on puzzles together. What a gift to be a part of this community!!!

Gabriel and I love using positive reinforcement (R+) to reconnect and have fun. The relationship created with clicker training translates well to work in the saddle and other forms of training. This is one of the two main methods for behavior shaping I use.

Targeting (a practice in R+ and what you see here in this video) invokes confidence and curiosity, something so valuable in the nature of horses! It’s easy to overly desensitize a horse in the average training environment. Positive reinforcement is a great way to re-sensitize a dull horse or one lacking in the ability to think through a problem.

Gabe doesn’t have the best eyesight so I incorporate voice commands to help him recognize what im asking of him- though it’s not necessary for R+.

Give me a shout if you want to learn more about positive reinforcement and how it can work for you and your horse!

Hello! Let me intoduce myself and my business partner. I’m Anna and this is Gabe!

For the past 22 years I have spent my life being a horseperson. At 3 years old I started riding lessons and was hooked. For a grand majority of my childhood I took lessons weekly and attended summer camps as well. At 17 I started working at a barn that offered Equine Assisted Therapies. It was there that I met my boy Gabe. At the same time the company we worked for was dissolving, I was accepted to the Univeristy of Montana Western. I needed a horse to go with me and everything fell into place for Gabe to be my partner in crime, so westward we went! After studying Natural Horsemanship for a few years, I moved back home to Pennsylvania and tried to settle in.
Then, New Hampshire called my name. I moved in with a dear friend and Gabe is the happiest he’s ever been at Ancora Imparo Equestrian Center. I am now ready to put my knowledge to use and fulfill my lifelong dream of sharing my love of horses with others! With a collective two years of instruction and three years of schooling, I am confident that I can help any beginner or intermediate horse lover achieve what they need to succeed in the realm of riding and training.
Gabe has been with me for the past five years through it all! By far, he has been my greatest and most patient teacher. In everything I teach, the love of the horse is what’s most important. We can’t wait to get to work and have some fun in this next chapter of ours!
