🚨 Heroic Effort by K9 Kane & Handler Kissel! 🚨

This evening, our incredible K9 Kane and Handler Kissel tackled a challenging 1.5-mile track through the woods and successfully located a 15-year-old autistic, non-verbal juvenile.

Thanks to their training, determination, and teamwork, the juvenile was found safe and sound. 💙🐾

Great job, Platoon C! Kane earned extra scratches, belly rubs, and—of course—extra treats for a job well done! 🍖🐶

And just like that it's over....After 6 intense weeks of training, hard work, long days, and dedication, these K9 Teams have officially completed the MidproK9 Police K9 Handler Course! 🇺🇸🐕‍🦺

This class faced more than its share of unforeseen obstacles along the way — K9 replacements, injuries, setbacks, stressful moments, and the constant challenge of adapting under pressure. But that’s part of what makes a true Police K9 Team. Real-world deployments don’t go as planned, and these handlers learned firsthand how to work through adversity, trust their training, and continue moving forward.

Throughout the course, these handlers and K9s trained in narcotics/explosive detection, tracking, article searches, building suspect searches, controlled apprehension, scenario-based training, and real-world deployments. Every team was challenged mentally and physically to prepare for the realities they may face on the street.

What makes a successful Police K9 Team isn’t just the dog — it’s the partnership, trust, and commitment built between handler and K9.

We are proud of every team that completed this class and thankful for the departments that trusted MidproK9 with their training.
