New Class Alert!! 🚨

Shy to Fly

This unique class is designed for shy, sensitive, or hesitant dogs using shaping and free work—no forcing, and no overwhelming. In Shy to Fly, dogs are empowered to explore, make choices, and build confidence at their own pace in a thoughtfully structured environment.

Through guided free work, enrichment setups, and confidence-building pattern games, dogs learn that engaging with new surfaces, obstacles, and challenges is safe—and rewarding. We’ll introduce clear marker communication, develop a strong reward system and use games to create predictability and security.

As the weeks progress, we gently build toward more intentional interactions, including voluntary engagement and beginner approach work, always prioritizing the dog’s comfort and choice.

Perfect for nervous, unsure, or easily overwhelmed dogs, Shy to Fly helps them grow into more curious, resilient, and confident companions—one brave choice at a time.

* This class is currently only for dogs that are friendly and non reactive towards other dogs and humans. Contact us if you are unsure if it is a good fit.

Class will be held 5pm Fridays June 5th-26th. Registration is available here: https://doggonitnh.com/register-and-pay/?product_id=7128

Great read. Muzzles are a good thing!

Great read. Muzzles are a good thing!

Here’s the thing… dogs don’t need a bite history for a muzzle to be the right choice.

They don’t need to “fail” first. They don’t need to prove anything. And they definitely don’t need something to go wrong before we take responsibility.

We don’t wait for a dog to run into the road before using a lead. We don’t wait for them to choke before changing how we feed them. So why do we treat muzzles differently?

A muzzle isn’t a last resort. It’s a proactive, thoughtful choice that protects dogs, the people around them, and the situations they’re in.

When we introduce a muzzle early, with care and understanding, we give dogs the chance to move through the world safely… without risk hanging over them.

They’re not wearing it because they’ve bitten. They’re wearing it so they never have to.

If you’ve chosen to muzzle your dog, we’d love to know why. 👇

To all our clients, please be aware, that over the past couple of weeks we have had several attempted scam efforts made by internet trolls claiming to be selling Lake Side Animal Hospital paraphernalia such as t-shirts, mugs and hoodies (see the bottom part of the picture). Please note this is NOT a legitimate offer from LSAH. Dr. Jen has reported, deleted and blocked multiple postings from several different aliases. However, we wanted to make a public announcement that this is a scam, so please do not fall for it. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you're in the Franklin area, keep an eye out for Tillie! She wandered off last Fall, but she may have decided to burrow, and this time of year is when the hibernating tortoises begin to emerge.

DO NOT PUT HER IN/NEAR BODIES OF WATER; SHE CANNOT SWIM.
