A restoration like this is not a quick fix!

This 48” King Salmon (50 lbs!) was a skin mount that had been previously mounted years ago, and later damaged by mice. The harm was significant - missing large areas of skin and scales, and pieces of fins were gone.

The project was an incredible challenge and literally took hundreds of hours over several months.

• Structural repairs and reconstruction
• Replacing missing skin, scales and fins
• Detailing and texture matching
• Full repaint (with exception of the head which needed some touch up)

I’m sharing the BEFORE photos so you can see the damage, followed by the completed AFTER photos (banana for scale!).

Thank you, Fritz for trusting me with this one. Fritz – what a beautiful king salmon, and what a catch.

This is Nathan’s spring Black Bear taken from Mt. Emily in Oregon.

It’s an older male with a very unique color phase. We kept the look clean and classic with a simple rug mount, featuring a firm wool backing and a sharp black Pendleton border.

Hunting buddies, Joe and Garrett, each tagged out beautiful Roosevelt bulls on the Oregon Coast during archery season, and here’s the wild part… they BOTH came out with the “highest score.”

How? One bull had the bigger GROSS score (total inches of antler), and the other had the bigger NET score (gross minus deductions). Different way of tallying — same bragging rights.
And get this…their Boone and Crockett score was only 2/8” apart. That’s as close as it gets!

Honored to preserve these coastal giants — congratulations Joe & Garrett, and thank you for trusting me with your trophies!

Project Status Update

It’s been incredibly busy here at the shop, and we’re excited to share that we’re now working on the final two spring bear rugs from 2024. They are very time‑consuming, so while they’re in process I’ll also be working on the 2024 antelope and archery elk.

For the rest of the 2024 mounts, I’ll be reaching out to clients soon to confirm poses and details so we can keep everything moving smoothly.

Euros are done in batches, and 2025 Euros are already starting to roll out the door.

Thank you all for your patience, and as always, we appreciate your business. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions.

Cinnamon-phase Eastern Oregon spring Black Bear

This half‑lifesize mount was a true custom. Our client envisioned his bear turning left and walking downhill—a dynamic pose you won’t find in standard mannikins. To honor that vision, we sculpted the form from scratch, building the structure and anatomy to capture balance, motion, and that unmistakable downhill stride.

We finished it on a custom granite rock base designed to mirror the bear’s natural habitat, letting that beautiful cinnamon color phase take center stage.

Congratulations, Casey.
We appreciate your business and hope you enjoy your new mount!

Some projects aren’t just mounts—they’re memories brought to life.

Congratulations to John and Calene on their incredible African safari!

For those of you who follow my page, you know they recently picked up the first half of their hunt—three pedestal mounts, two impalas and a blesbok—displayed on a beautiful custom-made mahogany shield.

This newest piece features four African species—Gemsbok, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, and Waterbuck—mounted on a walnut base. Each pedestal mount includes genuine leather backing and copper rivets for a clean, refined finish. The base has Africa-shaped cutouts lined in zebra hide, adding a unique touch. To make the scene feel alive, we incorporated grasses, sand, and rocks with hand-carved petroglyphs and an African spear, creating a setting that tells the story of the hunt.

Every detail mattered in this project. From the cutouts to the petroglyphs, each element was designed to reflect John and Calene’s journey. It’s more than a mount—it’s a way to preserve the memories and experiences that make a hunt truly special.
