So much can happen over the course of a few days! It turns out that Hannahbelle doesn't seem to be pregnant. She will be seen at the vet next week to see what's going on. Both Hannahbelle and Octavia are heading to another foster because...

This mama delivered 11 (yes-11!!) babies at the shelter. This not the way place for a mama to raise babies- the stress can be too much.

She will be in foster at Safe Place Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, in the nursery.

Rosie seemed anxious this morning. Probably still adjusting to her new home and she is likely in heat. We put some green beans in the puzzle ball to engage her and she loved it!

We wanted to share an update on Nora. Or as I've been calling her, Nora Belle (influenced by Hannah Belle 😁).

Nora is doing her job as a guardian dog. At night, she patrols the yard and shouts out some barks to let the predators know they are not welcome. She rests most of the day in the shade of the trees. She is still nervous around people but we've made some headway. If we approach slowly while she is lying down, we can sometimes pet her and she will take treats out of our hands. We were even able to brush her a bit! It brings us so much joy when we see that she is able to start trusting us.

We will keep this up at her pace until she feels comfortable approaching us. The hope is that we will get to that point this summer and we can get her groomed. She has a lot of matted fur that will need to come off. But for now, we will just show her how much we love her.

We could really use a sponsor for Nora. With food, grooming and a vet visit when she's ready, it will make a dent in our funds. Everyone here and Nora would be so grateful. ❤❤

Hannah Belle is still finding her footing with us. She’s a shy, timid soul who needs a little extra time (and patience) to feel safe in the world. So… we brought in reinforcements.

Meet her sister, Octavia — confident, outgoing, and just the right amount of silly. She’s the kind of dog who dives into life headfirst, makes her own fun, and isn’t afraid to be a little ridiculous.

And it’s working.

Where Hannah hesitates, Octavia leads. Where Hannah worries, Octavia reassures (in her own silly, zoomie-filled way). Watching them together is such a joy!

Healing doesn’t always happen alone — sometimes it looks like a wild, goofy sister by your side. Anyone have a sister like Octavia 😆❤

Oscar’s squeaks sound like he’s giving kisses. Pigs have lots of different sounds to let us know how they feel. Some we hear loud and clear and some we have to make a guess 😉🥰

We have spent a lot of time this past week working with Hannah Belle. She came to us very scared and with no trust in humans. She would run away from any contact with us. But after hours of just being there for her, she is starting to come around. It has been hard to get good pics of her because her instinct was to get away but today she didn’t ❤️. She wouldn’t eat in front of us at first but that has also changed.

Hannah Belle is here in preparation for her litter - her last litter. We are fostering Hannah Belle for East Mountain Companion Animal Project. Go ahead and follow them to get all the updates.

Shout out to our volunteers who have been helping with Hannah Belle, especially who has spent so much time showing Hannah Belle tons of love and patience.
