🍂🐾 Fall Leaves & Fresh Grass Seed: What Dog Owners Should Know 🌱
Fall is a beautiful time of year, but it can bring a few hidden hazards for our four-legged friends.
🍁 Piles of fallen leaves can hide sharp sticks, mold, mushrooms, or other debris that may make dogs sick or cause injuries. Wet leaves can also become slippery and may harbor bacteria or parasites.
🌱 Freshly planted grass seed can be tempting for curious dogs to sniff, dig, or eat. While grass seed itself isn't usually highly toxic, swallowing large amounts may upset your dog's stomach. More importantly, newly seeded lawns are often treated with fertilizers, w**d control products, or other lawn care products that may not be safe for pets until they've been used according to the label directions.
Help keep your pup safe this season by:
🐕 Supervising outdoor play.
🍂 Removing leaf piles regularly.
🚫 Keeping dogs off newly seeded or treated lawns until it's safe to return.
💧 Wiping paws after walks to remove dirt and lawn residues.
