Over the years I have collected a number of comic panels from “Speed Bump”. The strip is authored by Dave Coverly and often portrays the life of dogs through their eyes. I find it quite humorous at times and I am going to start sharing many of those with you over the coming months. I’d like to get your feedback on whether you enjoy them or not. “Speed Bump” appears daily in a number of newspapers across the country, including Tiffin’s Advertiser-Tribune.

ISHAS is facing a critical staffing shortage. Our team is working around the clock to care for special-needs dogs—and we need dedicated, reliable help now.

🐾 This is NOT a casual job
• Year-round position (minimum 4 days/week)
• Includes weekends & some holidays
• Physically and emotionally demanding

🐾 Responsibilities include:
Cleaning, laundry, medications, bathing, nail trims, and outdoor care in all weather

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL TIFFIN BARK PARK USERS: recently there was a case of Giardia at the park. There is essentially no way that we can prevent Giardia from being in the park. According to medical director, Dr. Jamie Pursell, DVM, “it is a waterborne, f***l borne parasite. It is a risk WHEREVER you take your dog.”

BEST PRACTICES: Do NOT allow your dog to drink from the community water bowl in the shelter. Even dumping the bowl and putting freshwater in, will not kill the parasite if it’s in the bowl. We have always recommended that they’re not being a ball at the park for that very reason. In addition, do not let your dogs eat f***s in the park. REMEMBER-we would not have a problem if everyone picked up after their dog. If we find that you are not always picking up after your dog, your key fob is subject to deactivation immediately.
