🍂 Are you noticing the subtle signs that winter is on its way?

But there's one sign of the changing season we'd rather NOT see... your veterinarian's colic kit making an appearance in your barn!
As temperatures drop, changes in water consumption and feeding routines can increase the risk of colic.
Three simple steps can help reduce that risk:
💧 WATER: Provide constant access to fresh, clean, ice-free water to encourage hydration.
🌾 FORAGE: Ensure adequate, appropriate forage. Fiber fermentation helps generate warmth from the inside out!
🧂 SALT: Provide adequate salt to encourage drinking and support hydration.
⚠️ Even with the best preventive care, colic can still happen! If your horse shows signs of discomfort, pawing, rolling, looking at their flank, or refusing feed, contact your veterinarian immediately. Early intervention can make all the difference!
