Fall is now coming as we head into the new season, one main thing owners might notice is itchiness and flaky skin. One home remedy to help relieve the itch is oatmeal shampoo, you can lather into the skin and let it soak for about 10 minutes.

Flea and tick preventatives can also help as fleas are active around this time and can cause flare ups in the skin rashes.

Another treatment that we recommend is an injection called Cytopoint, an allergy shot which works to stop the itchiness for about 6 to 8 weeks.

These are just some of the recommendations from us, we hope this info helps for the upcoming colder months to keep your pets skin healthy.

With this weekend coming up many owners love to do outdoor activities with their pets.
To be safe please make sure that your pet stays hydrated, limit time form the sun from the hours from 3 and 6pm, and when walking your dog to be sure to cover their paws to prevent asphalt burns.
