Different environment. Different hide. Same expectation.

Train with purpose. Trust the dog.

Good detection work starts with a dog that has a desire to hunt and finishes with a dog that knows exactly what pays.

We want the dog working the problem—not waiting on the handler to solve it for them.

🐾 Good obedience isn’t about teaching tricks — it’s about making everyday life with your dog better.
At Central Alabama Police K9, we’re bringing the same focus on clear communication, consistency, and dependable behavior that we use in professional K9 training to the family dog.
Our Basic Obedience Program is designed to help with your families basic needs when it comes to understanding your pet.

New locations. New surfaces. Aircraft. Equipment. Shipping crates. Unfamiliar odors and distractions.

The goal is to teach the dog to hunt odor and work independently—regardless of what the environment looks like.

Question for the K9 handlers:
What’s something you encountered in the real world that you wished you had trained for?

A lot of K9 training is built in the moments nobody sees.

Repetition. Consistency. Clear communication. Building a dog that understands the job and a handler who understands the dog.

That foundation is what you fall back on when it actually matters.
