Thomasville Humane Creating Impact Every Day.🐾
Adopt. Foster. Donate. Volunteer. We depend on memberships, donations, grants, and fundraising efforts.
(279)

We are a private, non-profit humane society serving the Thomasville community and Southwest Georgia as a "limited admission" shelter, focusing on animals in need of owner surrender. We adopt animals, provide medical care for newly adopted pets, and provide low cost sterilization services with the "Wellness Waggin," our mobile veterinary bus. Like all humane societies and SPCAs, we are independent

and are not affiliated with, nor do we receive regular funding from, any national animal welfare organizations or advocacy groups. Your interest in the welfare of the lost, homeless, abused, and abandoned pets in our community is greatly appreciated and vital to our continued success. Only financial support received locally will ensure our future and allow us to continue to care for the 4,000 animals per year that come through our doors. Your continued support means the world to us! We work hard to be the area’s leading advocate for animal welfare. Please help us continue to help them with your financial support!

🐾 Pet Food Donations Needed 🐾

Every year, our Community Pet Food Pantry provides thousands of pounds of pet food to local families facing temporary hardship. This program helps keep beloved pets fed, healthy, and at home with the people who love them.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve been able to help countless dogs and cats over the years. As pantry supplies begin to run low and demand remains high, we’re asking for a little help restocking our shelves so we can continue offering this resource to pet owners who truly need it.

We are currently accepting donations of:
🐾 Adult Dog Food
🐾 Puppy Food
🐾 Adult Cat Food
🐾 Kitten Food

Both wet and dry food are appreciated, and any brand is welcome! 💙

Donations may be dropped off at Thomasville Humane, shipped to us at 180 Big Star Dr., Thomasville, GA 31757, or purchased through our Amazon Wishlist (linked in the comments).

Every bag donated helps a pet stay fed and a family stay together. ❤️

Thank you for supporting pets and people in our community!

We've had the chance to spend a little extra time with Blue outside the shelter, and every outing has reminded us what a special dog he is!

Blue isn't looking for anything complicated. He's a chill guy who is down for anything, including doing absolutely nothing as long as he's with you. 🥰

At 8 years old, Blue is house-trained, loves car rides, and has mastered the art of being an easygoing companion. He doesn't ask for much, just someone to share life with.

Blue has been waiting for a home since January. That's far too long for a dog this sweet. He deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a family who will love him for the wonderful dog he is. ❤️

Come meet Blue at Thomasville Humane! We're open daily from 1-6 PM.

If you can't adopt Blue, please share this post to help us find someone who can. We know his person is out there somewhere. ❤️

🚨 HAPPY TAILS ALERT! 🚨

Mya, formerly known as Cindy, has settled right into the good life! 💙

Since being adopted in May, Mya has become a beloved member of her family. Her adopter says she is incredibly sweet, very well-behaved, loves cuddles, enjoys her walks, and is definitely motivated by snacks! As an added bonus, she's also discovered that she loves swimming. 🏊‍♀️

From cozy couch snuggles to car rides, adventures, and time spent with her cat sibling, Mya is making herself right at home.

Thank you for choosing adoption and for giving Mya the loving home she deserves. We couldn't be happier for this sweet girl! 🥹

Have you adopted from Thomasville Humane? We'd love to hear from you! Send your photos and updates to [email protected] to be featured in a future Happy Tails post. 🐾

Happy ! 🐾💙

We are so excited to celebrate this week's adoptions! While every happy ending is special, two of these were what we lovingly call "foster fails." These pets were headed to Delaware through our short-term foster program, but their foster families fell in love and decided to make them a permanent part of the family instead.

We can't blame them. ❤️

Congratulations to ALL of this week's adopters, and thank you to everyone who continues to support shelter pets in our community. We are so happy for these wagging tails and their new families!

This photo is missing one thing... a family! 🥰

As of today, we've added a special adoption photo sign to celebrate the day pets officially become part of a family. ❤️

We're already obsessed with it, and we can't wait to see it featured in photos of pets heading home with the people who love them.

For now, these two adorable kittens are modeling while they wait for their turn!

Both are available for adoption, along with several other kittens currently in our care. We also have dogs and adult cats looking for families of their own! 🥰

Come see us today from 1–6 PM and meet your new best friend. ❤️

There’s nothing like a big-headed boy!! 😍 Meet Hoss!

At nearly 80 pounds, Hoss is a big boy with an even bigger heart. This handsome guy is friendly, playful, and always ready for fun. Whether he’s chasing a ball in the yard, exploring with his favorite people, or soaking up attention, Hoss brings joy everywhere he goes.

Hoss is around 2 years old, heartworm-negative, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find a family of his own. He has energy for adventures, but he’s also a gentle, loving companion who enjoys spending time with his people. Best of both worlds 🥰🥰

If you’ve been looking for a loyal best friend with a great smile and an even better personality, Hoss may be the perfect match. Come meet Hoss at Thomasville Humane!

We’re open daily from 1-6 PM and located at 180 Big Star Drive.

🤠 ADOPT COWBOY! 🧡

Cowboy recently spent the day exploring Thomasville with his Doggy Day Out family, and they had so many great things to say about him!

His adventure included Cherokee Lake Park, downtown Thomasville, and a few tasty treats along the way. While Cowboy was a little shy for the first few minutes, it didn't take long for his sweet personality to shine through. Once he warmed up, he was friendly, affectionate, and happy to spend time with everyone he met.

His Doggy Day Out family shared that Cowboy never barked or whined, enjoyed playing fetch, loved pup cakes and peanut butter treats, and was comfortable around young children. 🐶

These outings help us learn more about our dogs outside the shelter, and Cowboy showed everyone exactly what a wonderful companion he can be.

Now all Cowboy needs is a family of his own! Come meet him at Thomasville Humane! We're open daily from 1–6 PM.
