We are a private, non-profit humane society serving the Thomasville community and Southwest Georgia as a "limited admission" shelter, focusing on animals in need of owner surrender. We adopt animals, provide medical care for newly adopted pets, and provide low cost sterilization services with the "Wellness Waggin," our mobile veterinary bus. Like all humane societies and SPCAs, we are independent

and are not affiliated with, nor do we receive regular funding from, any national animal welfare organizations or advocacy groups. Your interest in the welfare of the lost, homeless, abused, and abandoned pets in our community is greatly appreciated and vital to our continued success. Only financial support received locally will ensure our future and allow us to continue to care for the 4,000 animals per year that come through our doors. Your continued support means the world to us! We work hard to be the area’s leading advocate for animal welfare. Please help us continue to help them with your financial support!

Happy ! 🐾💙

Now THIS is what we love to see! So many pets traded their kennels for homes this week, and we couldn’t be happier to see each one heading off with a family of their own.

Weeks like this are only possible because of a community that continues to show up for the animals who need us. To every adopter who opened their home, every person who shared a post, every volunteer and foster who gave their time, and every supporter who makes our work possible, thank you. 💙

There are still plenty of dogs and cats here waiting for their turn, and we’d love to have an even bigger group to celebrate next Wednesday!

Because I LOVE toys. And rolling in the grass. And playing. And cuddling up next to you. And I’m currently looking for someone willing to provide me with ALL of the above for approximately forever. 😂💙

Last week, a few of our puppies traded the kennel for the bank! 🐾🏦

In honor of National Dog Day, we visited our friends at Synovus Bank with a few of our adoptable puppies! They collected plenty of cuddles, worked hard in meetings, and even snuck in some playtime in the lobby. 🐶

A huge thank you to Synovus Bank in Thomasville for inviting us out and giving these pups a fun afternoon away from the shelter and some extra exposure along the way! 💙

We love getting out into our community and spending time with the businesses and organizations that support our mission. Oh... and we can’t forget the best part! 🎉 Two of these pups have already found their forever homes following their visit. Midge is still available here at Thomasville Humane and would love to meet you!

Someone got a fresh new look just in time to find a new home!! 🐾 Adopt Bass!😍

This handsome Cocker Spaniel is around 5 years old and recently got the full spa treatment thanks to our friends at Brit's Scruffy to Fluffy. Safe to say, he cleans up pretty well. 😂

Bass is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, freshly groomed, and ready to find his new family. 💙

We’re still getting to know him, but with a face like this, we couldn’t wait any longer to introduce him! Come meet Bass at Thomasville Humane!

Scruffy hair, tiny bow tie, BIG personality. Meet Bear! 🐻💙

Bear is only 4 months old and somehow already has the whole adorably disheveled look completely mastered. 😂 This scruffy little guy is sweet, playful, and ready to find a family to grow up with!

He’s vaccinated, microchipped, and has plenty of puppy days ahead of him for adventures, playtime, snuggles, and probably a little bit of mischief along the way. 🐾

We are honored to have received our 2025 No-Kill recognition from Best Friends Animal Society this week! We are celebrating five years as a No-Kill shelter and a 99% save rate in 2025!

The national benchmark for No-Kill is a 90% save rate, and in 2025, Thomasville Humane achieved 99%. Behind that number are thousands of individual lives and an entire community of people who refused to give up on animals in need.

We are incredibly proud to have maintained our No-Kill status since 2021, and we could not do it without our staff, volunteers, fosters, adopters, donors, community partners, board members, and supporters. This recognition belongs to our entire village.

WE ARE BLOWN AWAY BY OUR AMAZING COMMUNITY! 💙

In just a few days, you have helped us raise more than $12,000 toward the $20,000 in unexpected HVAC expenses!

The system has now been replaced, safe temperatures have been restored, and the animals and staff are safe. Although the immediate emergency is over, the financial impact remains.

We are incredibly grateful for every donation, share, encouraging message, and offer of support we have received. You have already carried us more than halfway to our goal, and we cannot thank you enough!

With approximately $8,000 left to raise, we still need your help to close the gap. Every donation matters, and even small gifts add up to something big!
