Been working on the garden area for this year. Had add a room for watermelons,they took over the garden last year. Planted some early veggies,and as soon as fencing is up and gate made the smaller addition is for melons.

Angela Morefield was extremely pleased with the reception she got for her creations. Will be back next year.

We have been working hard getting ready for this weekends Massacre Island Pirate Reenactment at Fort Gaines Historic Site . We will have our jams,pickles,and a great variety of breads. We are also going to have a variety of peppers and a few watermelons,all grown in our garden. Hope to see some our local people there. It's a fun event.

First watermelon harvest from our garden. These are Charleston grays. They are probably at least 15lbs. Each.

We are working on growing Tortuga Farm into a productive place. The garden has done well for its first year. We have just planted blackberry and blueberry plants.
What we need to do next is a greenhouse. We have found a good one that will allow us to start our plants early and get them planted sooner.
We planned to get 2 of these this summer,but with me not working,I am looking for something within my limitations,and the amount of rain this summer raing out our markets,we haven't been able to put the funds together. If anyone would like to give us a hand getting a couple of these it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, in spite of the heat,and rain chances,we managed to get
6 blueberry bushes,5 blackberry bushes,4 pineapple guava plants,and a few perennial plants planted the last couple days.
Have a number of other fruit trees and plants to get in,but that will be another day.
