Golfers update!

You met the golfers we rescued Masters weekend… Gary, Jordan, Nanna and Nelly have been adopted but Angel, Justin, Lauren and Rory are still waiting for their furever homes. Is it with you?

Today the spotlight is on Angel, a happy, bouncy 4 year old who loves attention and is eager to please. She enjoys walks and spending time with people. She weighs around 18 lbs, has been spayed, had her teeth cleaned, and had a much needed visit to the groomer.

Say cheese! Monterey Jack, that is…

Meet Monty, a sweet young boy who was wescued on National Cheese Day (seriously, isn’t 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 day cheese day??) Monty was at an area shelter after being picked up stray and no one claimed him. No owners came to get him. No adopters showed up for him. No rescues tagged him.

Have you heard that Houston has a pet crisis? Monty could be the poster boy. When a young, sweet, cute pup is stuck in a shelter and nobody wants him, you know things have gotten bad.

Wescue HQ is overflowing but we knew we had to make space for Monty. Right now we have too many dogs and not enough adopters or fosters. Want to be part of the solution? You can help by adopting, fostering, volunteering, and/or donating.

A question we hear all of the time is “do you adopt out of state?”

The short answer is yes!

We’ve had adopters from across the United States. Today alone we had adopters from Alabama, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

Rory is one of our golfing friends that’s ready for his furever home. Is it with you?

Rory is estimated to be 5-7 years old and about 13 lbs. He has quickly picked up the routine at his foster home and we know he will do the same in his furever home. He LOVES walks, meal time, being held and playing with his furry foster siblings in the backyard. He also appears to enjoy mud!

Tonight we want to focus attention on our special friend, Whiskey.

Whiskey is a 5 year old terrier who came to Wescue more than two years ago after he was found stray. He has been through a lot over the years, first battling heartworms, then some other medical issues. Whiskey is blind in one eye, has high blood pressure, and some kidney concerns. The blindness came on suddenly and it took a while for him to adapt, but he gets around like a champ now. Like many of us, he takes daily medication for his blood pressure, and the food he eats is formulated for kidney support.

Whiskey LOVES walks and investigating everything he can on the way. He also loves snuggles on the couch and following his humans around. Whiskey can be scared of quick movements so he prefers an all adult home because small children can be scary.

As a Furever Friend, Whiskey’s special diet and medications will be provided. You provide the love and Whiskey will provide the tail wags and cuddles.
