Meet Milo, a fluffy Corgi who came to see us after his family noticed muscle tremors and twitching. šŸ¾šŸ’™

During his examination, our team discovered that Milo was experiencing some neck pain, which may have been contributing to his discomfort and unusual movements.

To help get him comfortable, Milo received a pain-relieving injection that provides approximately 8ā€“12 hours of relief, along with a steroid injection to help reduce inflammation. He was then sent home with a comprehensive treatment plan that included a muscle relaxer, pain medication with mild sedative effects, and steroids.

Muscle tremors or twitching can have many different causes, so it's important to have your pet evaluated when you notice new or unusual movementsā€”especially when they're accompanied by signs of pain, weakness, changes in behavior, or difficulty moving. Identifying discomfort early can help your veterinarian determine the appropriate treatment and prevent your pet from continuing to experience pain.

Milo was a very handsome patient who was ready to get back to relaxing and enjoying some well-deserved rest! šŸ¶šŸ’™āœØ

Meet Oliver, a very handsome boy whose family knew exactly what to do when they found an unwanted hitchhiker! šŸ¾šŸ’™

Oliver's owner noticed a tick attached to his abdomen and brought him to UrgentVet right away. Our team safely removed the tick and checked the area for irritation. Oliver was sent home with Credelio for ongoing tick and flea prevention, along with a topical mousse to help soothe the skin where the tick had been attached.

Ticks aren't just a nuisanceā€”they can transmit a variety of diseases to our pets. Even if you only find one tick, it's a good reminder to make sure your pet is consistently protected with a veterinarian-recommended parasite preventative. Checking your pet after time outdoors, especially around the ears, neck, between the toes, and along the belly, can also help catch ticks early.

We're happy Oliver's family spotted the tick and acted quickly! One less tiny hitchhiker and one very handsome pup back on his way. šŸ¶āœØ

Meet Maggie, who came to see us after vomiting and losing interest in her food. šŸ¾šŸ’™

To help determine what was going on, our team performed bloodwork along with a pancreatic lipase test. Thankfully, all of her results came back unremarkable, which was reassuring!

Maggie received supportive care in the clinic, including subcutaneous fluids to help with hydration, an anti-nausea injection to settle her stomach, and an antacid injection. Her family was also instructed to continue over-the-counter famotidine at home for the next couple of days as directed by the veterinarian.

Sometimes gastrointestinal upset can be caused by something as simple as dietary indiscretion, while other cases may require more extensive diagnostics. When your pet is vomiting or refusing food, especially if symptoms persist, a veterinary evaluation can help determine whether supportive care is appropriate or if additional testing is needed.

Of course, Maggie also made sure to squeeze in some quality time with LVT Tiffanyā€”and apparently decided that a selfie was an essential part of her treatment plan! šŸ“øšŸ¶šŸ’•

Maggie came to UrgentVet with facial swelling from a suspected insect sting, and our team was ready to help. Allergic reactions in pets can happen quickly and may cause swelling, redness, hives, and in some cases, difficulty breathing.

The good news? Maggie is feeling much better! Her swelling has gone down, and she's back to her happy, playful selfā€”just the way we like to see our patients. šŸ’™
