This beautiful kitty is Nina! She came to see us because she had stopped eating. During her visit, we discovered that Nina had a fairly high fever, which helped explain why she wasn’t feeling up to her usual routine. 🥺

We ran bloodwork to help us get a better look at what was going on and gave Nina fluids and injections to help her feel more comfortable and get her feeling better. 💉🩺

We hope this sweet girl is back to enjoying her favorite things very soon! 🥰🐾

A change in appetite can be an important sign that your cat isn’t feeling well. If your kitty suddenly stops eating or just seems off, don’t wait to have them checked out. ❤️

🪱🐶 Tiny puppy, not-so-tiny worms!

Meet Rocco, an adorable 6-week-old Terrier who came to see us after his family noticed he was passing worms. 🥺🪱 We got this little guy started on a dewormer to help clear those pesky parasites and get him back to feeling his best!

And the best part? 💕 During his callback the next day, Rocco’s family told us he was doing great and was back to his normal, happy puppy self! 🎉🐾

Parasites are unfortunately common in puppies, which is why routine deworming and parasite prevention are so important, especially during those first few months of life.

We love hearing when our tiniest patients are back to doing what puppies do best—eating, playing, and being adorable! 🥰🐶

Meet Jersey! 🐾

This handsome Golden Retriever came to see us because he just wasn’t feeling like himself. His family noticed he wasn’t eating or playing as much as normal, and over the last couple of days, Jersey had also been excessively licking his feet. 🐶🩺

Jersey was given medications to help him feel better and went home with an e-collar to keep him from continuing to lick his feet while they heal. ❤️‍🩹

Sometimes changes in appetite, energy, or behavior can be subtle signs that something isn’t quite right. We’re glad Jersey’s family noticed the changes and brought him in! 🥰

Sweet little Poppy came to UrgentVet after getting into some grapes! 🍇😳 Grapes and raisins can be toxic to dogs and may cause serious kidney problems, so even a small amount can warrant a call to your veterinarian.

Poppy is now getting the care she needs and hopefully learning that grapes are for humans—not puppies

Bao came to UrgentVet because he was experiencing vomiting. 🐱💙 Even though his tummy wasn’t feeling its best, Bao was such a sweet boy during his visit!

💡 Cat Parent Tip: Vomiting can happen for many reasons in cats, from eating something they shouldn’t to hairballs, dietary changes, gastrointestinal issues, or other underlying conditions. Occasional vomiting may not always be an emergency, but repeated vomiting, blood in the vomit, weakness, refusing food or water, or changes in behavior are reasons to have your kitty evaluated.

Jaxon, a charming Corgi, came to us because he wasn’t acting like himself. X-rays showed an enlarged prostate, common in intact males. 🩺

We recommended neutering to help resolve the issue and advised a follow-up with his primary vet for ongoing care. We’re happy he received the checkup he needed! Sometimes, a change in behavior is the first sign something’s wrong. 🐶

Not every outdoor adventure goes according to plan—just ask Maggie! 🐝

Maggie came to UrgentVet with facial swelling from a suspected insect sting, and our team was ready to help. Allergic reactions in pets can happen quickly and may cause swelling, redness, hives, and in some cases, difficulty breathing.

The good news? Maggie is feeling much better! Her swelling has gone down, and she's back to her happy, playful self—just the way we like to see our patients. 💙
