🐾 Rescue Spotlight: Meet Oso! 🐾

Oso is a special, sweet boy who is so ready for a fresh start and a quiet, loving home to call his own.

Underneath his shelter stress lies an incredible companion. While the noise and commotion of the shelter environment overwhelm him, Oso completely shines the moment he steps outside. Our volunteers give him rave reviews—calling him one of the best leash-walkers in the program! He is calm, well-mannered, and practically non-reactive on walks.

Here are a few quick facts about Oso:

🧸 Toy & Water Enthusiast: He absolutely adores plushie toys and will choose a stuffie over treats any day. He’s also a total water bug who can’t get enough of hose spray or pool time!

🐕 Dog-Friendly: He has done wonderfully with calm, playful female dogs.

🏞️ Adventure Ready: Loves outings, walks, and exploring off shelter grounds.

His Story:
Oso had a rough start before coming to the Columbia Gorge Humane Society—he was rescued by animal control from a locked car on a 100°+ day in The Dalles, suffering from severe heat stroke. Thanks to quick emergency vet care, he made a full recovery, but he has been waiting in the shelter ever since.

Oso deserves a peaceful life, quiet mornings, and a family who will shower him with belly rubs and take him on the adventures he’s always dreamed of.

Meet Butterfinger! 🐾✨

This sweet 7–9 month old girl is ready to sweeten up your life! Butterfinger came to the shelter after being rescued from a neglect situation, but despite a rough start, she has so much love, warmth, and wiggles to offer.

She’s a total gem—sweet, affectionate, and submissive, though a little shy with new people at first. As she gets out into the world, her confidence grows every day! Growing up around other dogs, she’d love a friendly playmate to show her the ropes as she settles into a routine.

With time, consistency, and a loving home, Butterfinger is going to be the ultimate family dog. Don't miss out on one of the wiggliest, squishiest pups around! 🐶💛
