One of my favorite posts to share is when I can update our adoption poster to share the happy news, because at Hobbes Haven our ethos is “Every heart deserves a home”.
Feral and stray cats enter a harsh and cruel world from the day they’re born, so being rescued and having a chance for their little hearts to find a home, feels like a miracle and a big win.
Frodo & Fiona come from a letter of five neonatal kittens that were found on the side of the Goldendale Highway where a typical dog walk turned into a life-saving one! A litter of five was discovered just feet from the main highway, where the other person that I found them noted that they were very sadly but clearly dumped. This beautiful group of siblings was one of my first solo ventures with neonatal kittens, where I dove into reading articles, researching, watching videos, and waking up in the middle of the night to bottle feed every single little mouth until they were old enough to start eating food on their own. As I held each one, I would admire their fragility and irresistible cuteness, and ask myself aloud, how there could exist people that could consciously harm helpless beings like this- these little guys had absolutely no chance at survival and if this amazing gal hadn’t gone out of her way to pause her typical day and scoop these little guys out of the tall grass, and then take the time to reach out to organizations and shelters until she finally connected with one that could help her take them off her hands, these five special individuals wouldn’t have had a chance to share their love and joy with this Beautiful Family that opened their hearts and home to a brother and sister. We are already receiving really happy updates of this young dynamic duo, and are excited to share with you guys with an upcoming post!
