๐ We need your help, TCAS family. ๐
Sometimes the hardest part of animal welfare is saying yes when an animal desperately needs us, even when the cost is significant.
This week, we said yes to two animals who had nowhere else to turn.
๐พ Winter came to us after being surrendered by her owners to be euthanized because they did not want to spend the money needed for medical treatment. Winter was suffering from pyometra, a severe infection of the uterus that can quickly become fatal if left untreated. This painful condition is entirely preventable through spaying, but unfortunately Winter never received that chance.
Thankfully, our veterinary team was able to squeeze her into their surgery schedule at the very last minute and perform the emergency surgery she desperately needed to save her life.
๐พ Then there is little Legs.
This tiny kitten arrived over the weekend after a suspected vehicle accident. X-rays revealed devastating injuriesโher femur was completely broken in half. After evaluating her condition, the veterinarian determined that amputation was the best option to give her a happy, pain-free future.
Once again, our veterinary team stepped up. They added her to their schedule and even stayed late after closing to ensure she received the care she needed.
Because of their dedication, both Winter and Legs have a second chance at life.
But life-saving care comes at a cost.
Between emergency surgeries, medications, diagnostics, hospitalization, recovery care, and follow-up treatment, we are facing nearly $3,500 in medical expenses for these two animals alone.
We know times are tough, but if you are able to help, no donation is too small. Every dollar goes directly toward helping animals like Winter and Legs receive the care they need when they have nowhere else to turn.
Without the support of our community, we could not say yes to cases like these.
โค๏ธ Winter and Legs are not currently available for adoption as they recover, but we hope they will be ready to find loving homes in the coming weeks.
Today, we are asking for your help so we can continue being there for animals when they need us most.
Please consider making a donation and sharing this post.
From all of us at TCAS, from Winter, and from little Legsโthank you. Your support gave these two a future they may not have otherwise had.
