💔 Eight puppies found their happily-ever-afters. Their mama is still waiting for hers.
Meet Chicka Dee, a 3-year-old black-and-white spayed female Pit Bull whose next chapter is long overdue. Before coming to us, she had already had two litters of puppies. Over several weeks, she and eight of her older puppies were surrendered to our shelter.
Every single one of those babies found a home. Now, 148 days later, Chicka Dee is still here. 🥺
She is our longest shelter resident and the last member of our 100 Day Club. But to our staff and volunteers, she is so much more than a number. From the moment she arrived, this incredibly sweet, lovable girl won our hearts. We love her dearly—and we want so badly for someone to know and love her the way we do.
Chicka Dee has spent enough time being someone’s mama. She deserves a chance to be someone’s baby. ❤️
Her perfect family will understand that she needs the right animal companions. She can be dog selective, seems to prefer male dogs, and requires a meet and greet with any potential canine companions her size or larger. Because of her high prey drive, she cannot live with small dogs, cats, or other small animals.
And her biggest quirk? Squirrels! 🐿️ Chicka Dee takes squirrel patrol very seriously and would happily appoint herself your backyard’s squirrel supervisor.
Somewhere out there is a family who will see this sweet girl and think, “That’s our dog.” Please help us find them.
