🦜 LET’S TALK FACTS, NOT FEAR.
We’ve seen claims that ingredients in Lories Choice are “cheap,” “fillers,” or even “dangerous.” We believe those claims deserve context—and evidence.
🌿 Green banana flour: It isn’t simply a “cheap filler.” We selected it as a functional carbohydrate source. Green banana flour provides fiber and resistant starch. And choosing it over more conventional ingredients such as corn or wheat doesn’t make those ingredients “bad”—it reflects choices made in formulating our diet.
💚 Spirulina: Yes, spirulina naturally contains phosphorus. But that doesn’t tell you the phosphorus content of the finished food. Dose and formulation matter.
Our finished nutritional analysis shows:
Our finished-product analyses in our Maintenance Formula shows calcium at 0.56–0.60% and phosphorus at 0.23–0.24%, producing a Ca:P ratio of approximately 2.3–2.6:1.
Spirulina is only one ingredient in the complete formula and is also used in other commercial avian diets. Looking at one nutrient in one ingredient while ignoring its inclusion level and the finished analysis doesn’t give you the whole picture.
🧪 And that brings us to transparency.
Lory owners frequently hear the words “low iron.” We believe you should be able to ask something more meaningful:
What is the measured iron content of the finished food?
We believe manufacturers—including us—should be willing to answer questions, provide meaningful nutritional information, and stand behind their formulations.
So when you hear that an ingredient is “cheap,” “dangerous,” or “bad for lories,” ask:
What’s the evidence? What amount is actually in the food? And what does the finished nutritional analysis show?
Don’t feed the fear. Ask for the facts. 🌿
Lories Choice — Transparency Matters.
