🐄 Meet Kevin! 🐐

We’re excited to introduce Kevin, one of the newest faces at our clinic!

Kevin brings a unique background to our team, with much of his small animal experience coming from his time working with animals in the military. During that time, he gained experience in both general practice and specialty veterinary medicine, building a strong foundation in animal care, attention to detail, teamwork, and staying calm when things don’t always go according to plan.

Now, Kevin is expanding his experience into the large animal side of veterinary medicine. While cattle, horses, and farm calls are newer territory for him, he has jumped right in! He isn’t afraid to ask questions, get his hands dirty, or take on a new challenge, and we’ve been impressed by how quickly he is learning.

Kevin has also applied to veterinary school, with the goal of continuing his education and building a career in veterinary medicine. We’re excited to be part of his journey and give him plenty of hands-on experience with animals of all shapes and sizes along the way!

If you see Kevin around the clinic or out on a farm call, be sure to say hello and help us give him a warm welcome! 🐶🐱🐴🐮

⚠️ 🚨Rabies Alert: A Reminder for Pet & Livestock Owners

A recent rabies incident in North Carolina is an important reminder that rabies can affect livestock as well as dogs and cats.

According to North Carolina health officials, three baby goats from a mobile petting zoo tested positive for rabies, with a fourth presumed infected after the goats were reportedly exposed to a rabid skunk. Because the young goats attended multiple public and private events, nearly 300 people were evaluated for possible exposure, and more than 200 were advised to receive rabies post-exposure treatment.

🦨 What pet and livestock owners should remember:
• Avoid contact with wildlife…especially skunks, raccoons, bats, and foxes..and prevent pets and livestock from interacting with them whenever possible.
• Keep your dogs, cats, horses, and other eligible animals up to date on rabies vaccination.
• Rabies can be transmitted when infected saliva enters a bite wound, open cut, or the eyes, nose, or mouth.
• If an animal has possible contact with wildlife, contact your veterinarian promptly, even if you don’t see an obvious bite wound.
• Never handle a wild animal that is behaving unusually.

Rabies is almost always fatal after symptoms develop, which makes prevention and prompt action after a possible exposure extremely important.

If you have questions about your pet or livestock’s rabies vaccination status or what to do following a possible wildlife exposure, please give our clinic a call. We’re happy to help you determine the appropriate next steps.

Protect your animals. Protect your family. Stay rabies aware🫏🐄🐴🐐

🐴💛 Meet Keaton! 💛🐾

If you’ve been in the clinic lately, there’s a good chance you’ve already met Keaton, but we thought it was time to officially introduce her!

Keaton is a true horse girl through and through..and an animal lover in every sense of the word. Big, small, furry, slobbery, four-legged… there’s a very good chance she’s going to hug it. Personal space is really more of a suggestion when Keaton meets an animal. 😂

Behind all those hugs is one of the most compassionate and genuine hearts. She truly cares about every animal she meets and the people who love them. She brings kindness, a great sense of humor, and the kind of energy that makes you feel right at home.

We’re so happy to have Keaton as part of our clinic family. If you see her around, be sure to say “HAY”…just know your pet may leave with a new best friend. 🐶🐱🐴❤️

🐮🩷 Patient of the Week! 🩷🐮

This week’s special patient is one tough little lady, a newborn Shorthorn heifer who made quite the entrance into the world at a whopping 127 pounds! 😳 She may be brand new, but she’s already proving just how strong she is.

Unfortunately, this sweet girl is dealing with a cannon bone fracture(MC3), so her first day of life has looked a little different than expected. Thankfully, she’s getting the care and attention she needs, along with plenty of love while she begins the healing process. 🩹 ❤️‍🩹

💕Send our Patient of the Week some love and wishes for a smooth and speedy recovery! 💕

📣🐄 EVERYONE SAY HELLO TO TREVOR!! 🐄📣

Meet Trevor, one of our awesome Veterinary Assistants! 👏🐮

Every veterinary clinic needs that one person you call when a job requires a little extra muscle, determination, or someone willing to say, “Alright… I got it.” 💪😂

For us, that person is TREVOR.

Cow suddenly forgets how her legs work at the chute?
Get Trevor. 😂

Something heavy needs moved?
Get Trevor. 💪

Need an extra set of hands for a job everyone else suddenly looks busy for? 👀
Definitely Trevor. 🤣

He’s our go-to guy for the BIG JOBS, but he’s also our go-to for vaccine protocols and questions. 💉

All jokes aside, Trevor is a huge part of our team. ❤️ He works hard, jumps in wherever he’s needed, takes great care of our patients, and somehow still puts up with all of us!

We’re very thankful to have Trevor on our team! 💙

👏Everybody give Trevor some love in the comments! 👏

Everyone say a big hello to Alex! 👋💕

Alex is truly one of the people who helps keep everything running smoothly around here! She wears so many hats and is always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed. Whether she’s helping out up front, working behind the scenes in the back, or making sure everything stays on track throughout the day, Alex is always keeping busy and bringing so much care to everything she does.

And, of course, one of her favorite parts of the job is spending time with your sweet babies! 🐾 You can always catch her sneaking in plenty of hugs, kisses, cuddles, and boops whenever she gets the chance. She loves getting to know each and every one of them and making sure they feel comfortable, loved, and right at home while they’re with us.

We’re so thankful for everything Alex does and all the love she brings to our team and your fur babies. If you see her around, be sure to say hello! 🐶🐱🐄🐴💗
