☀️🐾 National Heat Awareness Day is May 29th! 🐾☀️
As temperatures start rising, the team at Tenafly Veterinary Center wants to remind pet parents that heat can become dangerous for our furry family members much faster than many realize.

Help keep your pets safe this season:
💧 Always provide fresh water
🌳 Limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours
🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars — even for a minute
🐕 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🥵 Watch for signs of heat illness: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, collapse, or difficulty breathing

If your pet is showing signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, contact Tenafly Veterinary Center immediately or proceed to the nearest emergency hospital right away.

A little extra awareness can go a long way in keeping your pets safe, healthy, and happy this summer. ❤️🐾

Today we’re celebrating our shelled friends and raising awareness for the challenges turtles face every day — from habitat loss and pollution to road dangers and environmental changes.

At Tenafly Veterinary Center, we love caring for pets of all shapes and sizes and helping pet families learn more about keeping animals healthy and safe.

Want to help protect turtle populations? Here are a few simple ways:
🐢 Never remove wild turtles from their natural habitat
🐢 Help turtles cross roads safely (only if it’s safe for you!)
🐢 Reduce plastic waste and keep waterways clean
🐢 Respect nesting areas and wildlife habitats
