Pearl was adopted from the Harker Heights Animal Shelter the night before she was to be put down. Pearl lived with us the last three years of her life and in her honor we have taken in other dogs that in some minds were less then desirable and have given them a new lease on life. Most of the dogs we take in at Pearl’s Place are;
Code Red on the last ours of their lives
Dogs with skin issues. Dogs

that have been in the shelter for long periods of time
Senior dogs that aren’t wanted
Dogs with broken bones that need orthopedic surgery
Hospice dogs needing a place to live their last days

Our adoptable dogs!!!

We have one little left, Stella.

German Shephards, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Belgian Malinios, Spanish Water Dog, Anitolian, XL Bully, Pitbull, Malinios blends, Red Heeler, what else could you ask for?

All of our dogs are spay/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and ready for their forever homes.

This friday lets celebrate CoCo.

This senior girl has come to live with us from the Dallas Shelter. She found herself in the shelter, alone and on the euthanasia list.

So many older dogs are finding themselves in the same spot.

CoCo has been enjoying her time here with us and really getting used to the quieter more individual type life.

Our sanctuary provides dogs with a soft spot to land. They enjoy climate controlled kennels with guaranteed food, medical and love.

We also have a subcription page where we share different topics then what we share on our main page.

Alfred wants to wish everyone a Good Morning.

He got to come home yesterday afternoon.

Alfred is such a little warrior. When so many would have given up, he has kept on fighting.

Thank you Debbie for donating his incubator, it has kept him warm and comfy his first night home.

His blood transfusion seems to have helped him a great deal.

Alfred is on a two hour feeding schedule, plus he is eating in between on his own.

Thank you all for all your prayers, donations and kind words. You are all truly the heartbeat of Pearl’s Place.

Alfred isn’t out of the woods but he is headed in the right direction.

Ya'll remember Latte who came to us in November last year found on the church doorstep barely alive? Well today she found her furever home!!! Yesterdays update on Little Alfred.

As you know he has been at the Hospital in the ICU.

Alfred has had an IV in giving him glucose every 30 minutes. His little body is fighting hard.

Last night, after having his IV catheter taken out with hopes he could go home today. He had blood drawn and I got a text saying his blood work showed worse then he was acting.

I grabbed Petunia and headed to the hospital. Petunia is our resident blood donor.

Oh course, we hit every red light, but made it.

Alfred, received a blood transfusion to hopefully have his life.

A blood transfusion in a puppy this small, actually goes into the femur bone instead of the blood stream.

Alfred wasn’t happy and said a lot of words that thank goodness we couldn’t understand.

I will keep everyone updated as soon as we get an update this morning.

Suri and I were just sitting outside enjoying the breeze and a very important question came up that neither one of us could answer.

Why has no one adopted her yet?

She’s loyal, sweet, funny, smart and just wants to be someone’s best friend. Bonus: she loves being brushed and will insist on frequent belly rubs during brushing.
