Milo

When Milo came to us he was in very rough shape. With deep wounds filled with maggots (though they probably helped him survive) he had a lot of healing to do.

His wounds were cleaned and he spent some time at the vet to help his little body get back on track. When he came home to Pearls Place we gave him all the extra care he needed and his wounds quickly started to heal. Now he’s healed and even getting fur back where he had lost it.

Milo wasn’t sure of us and our intentions at first, but quickly realized we were there to help and became such a friendly, sweet puppy.

Puppies are amazing creatures! They forgive and move on from their hardships so easily! Milo is living for today and is ready for his next adventure with his forever family 💕

Pecos's adoption has been sponsored and all he needs now is someone to fall in love with him! Pecos is such a sweet boy. He loves to give love and play outside. He does great with kids and other dogs! Maybe wouldn't do so well with cats and definitely doesn't do well with livestock when allowed to be loose with them. Would be fine if fenced separately from livestock, however.

Pecos needs a home where he can play in a yard and lounge at someone's feet. He isn't too high energy and is 3 years old so is definitely on the chiller side. He is crate trained and probably would do amazing in a home setting.

Although, summer will be turning to fall soon here in Central Texas. Let’s talk about traveling with our dogs.

Let’s start off with, please make sure your dogs are microchipped and the information is up to date. Even puppies.

I like to have crates for the dogs. Puppies and dogs should be crate trained ideally before a long road trip.

Collar recommendations? Our dogs travel with martingale collars. They don’t have to be put on tight. A couple fingers fitting under the collar for traveling. The important thing with this type of collar is if the dog gets scared the collar will tighten up when pressure is applied. No regular collars or harnesses slipping off over their heads. Believe me never say never. Even dogs that we have traveled with for thousands of miles have a martingale and leash.

Frightened dogs will bolt and run scared.

Always carry your dogs vaccinations with you. If they get hurt, bit or bite someone you need to have them. Puppies especially need to have all their puppy shots and rabies if you expect to take them out of the car and onto the ground for any reason. We never know what has been on the ground before them.

When walking your dog, please always clean up after them.

The more responsible we all are with our dogs the more welcome they will be.
