Meet our adoptable blue and gold macaw, Rajah!
Rajah is a young (5 year old), spunky blue & gold macaw with lots of potential! Rajah enjoys the company of human men, but does tolerate some handling from macaw-savvy, confident women. Rajah has been acclimated to both an indoor enclosure and an outdoor aviary, and does very well as a solo-bird, or incorporated into a flock setting (macaws only). She minds her manners around other birds of various sizes and species, but can be defensive over her food/treat bowl. Rajah has an interesting vocabulary, and says "hello", "goodbye", "hey Raj", and "stop/shut up". Rajah has shown incredible flight potential, and is very skilled at short flights and soft, calculated landings. She can exhibit hormonal behaviors around men she considers her "pair-bond", so it is very important that her new home continues to appropriately handle her and understands how to mitigate reproductive stimuli. Rajah is food-motivated, loves to learn, and would do best with a solo man, solo woman, or a family who is completely devoted to her continued socialization and training.
