Monday may be here, but we’re still thinking about this past Saturday’s Fast and the Furriest race in Tempe!🐾🏁

Dr. Jakobe and the Valley Pet Surgery+ team was proud to be a sponsor—and we had a paws-itively good time cheering on the racers, meeting some very good dogs, and admiring those impressive trophies. All the cute pups stole the show, but we’re pretty sure they knew that already. 🐶💙

Thanks to everyone who made it such a fun day!

Happy Wednesday!

Dr. Jakobe brought her fur babies to work today, and we think they may have stolen the spotlight! Turtle was on hand to keep an eye on things, while Zippy showed off some serious flower power.

A little extra puppy love makes any workday better—and these two clearly know how to brighten the whole clinic. 🐾🌼

Doogan came in from Foothills Animal Rescue for dental extractions (and also a neuter but we’re not telling!) but he’s still looking like a very good (handsome) boy. 🦷🐾 He may be leaving with a few fewer teeth, but he hasn’t lost a bit of his charm.

Send this brave cutie lots of love while he rests and recovers!

Hear from Dr. Jakobe about Georgie. ❤️

Georgie, a 10-year old sweetheart, needed help with a tumor. Her person reached out to Dogs Day Out for assistance, and then Dr. Jakobe and team were pulled in. Her tumor may be related to not being spayed when she was younger, but now after having a couple healthy litters it’s time! This good girl received all the extra love while in the hands of the Valley Pet Surgery team!

The update to her care is that the surgery went well, the massive tumor as well as another discovered one were successfully removed. Georgie is recovering nicely and getting all the cuddles and belly rubs!

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, know that mammary tumors can affect dogs too. Spaying before a dog’s first heat can greatly reduce the risk. If you notice a new lump, have your dog checked by a veterinarian.

Last Sunday’s Dogs Day Out homeless outreach brought together veterinary care, community support and plenty of wagging tails. 🐾

Dr. Jakobe and our team spent the morning helping care for the beloved pets of people experiencing homelessness—and, as the photos prove, occasionally serving as a two-puppy holding station. 🐶🐶

Events like this help make veterinary care more accessible while supporting the incredible bond people share with their animals. A meaningful Sunday with some exceptionally cute four legged furry coworkers. ❤️

🐾 Mini-Me Monday! 🐾

Teach them while they’re young! Our junior animal lover is a regular visitor to the office for a little paws-on experience—and this very enthusiastic patient was more than happy to demonstrate proper bedside manner: one hug should always be repaid with wet nose pup kisses. 😂💋

Whether she becomes a future veterinarian, veterinary technician or simply a lifelong champion for animals, we think she’s off to a pretty wonderful start. Compassion begins early—and sometimes it comes with a little slobber. 💙

Who else thinks we may have a future member of the Valley Pet Surgery team on our hands? 🐶🐾

Bailey’s having a ball…while he still can. 😂🐾

This 6-month-old ball of fluff came in for his neuter and immediately got to work charming the team, testing several escape routes from Taylor’s arms, and giving the camera his best “everyone here is obsessed with me” face.

The escape attempt was unsuccessful. Securing approximately 47 cuddles? Mission accomplished. 💙

Talk about a Labor Day! 😉 Last weekend, Dr. Jakobe shared what’s ahead for Aria, an adorable Frenchie mama coming in for a C-section—and why being spayed is an important part of her long-term health.

The bonus for the Valley Pet Surgery team? A very special delivery of tiny pup-potatoes. 🐶🥔💕
