Beautiful Raven stopped by Valley Pet Surgery+ for a pediā€”and was all smiles. Dressed in pink, this gorgeous Rottweiler handled her nail trim with the confidence of a lady who knew everyone was admiring her. She was correct. šŸ’—

Regular nail trims help dogs walk comfortably and prevent painful cracks and snags. Raven, however, insists this was purely a beauty appointment.

Weā€™re grateful to Day Out Arizona for helping people experiencing homelessness keep their cherished pets healthy and by their sideā€”and we look forward to joining them again at this Sundayā€™s outreach! šŸ¾

A Monday moment at Valley Pet Surgery+.šŸ¾

Not every patient is ready to jump straight into an exam. Some need a few minutes to look around, sniff a hand, hear a calm voice, and decide everything is okay.

During intake, Dr. Jakobe follows the patientā€™s cuesā€”moving slowly, offering reassurance, and giving them time to settle before moving forward.

Every patient arrives a little differently. Sometimes the best way to begin is simply by giving them a moment.

Overpopulation starts long before an animal ends up in a shelter. It starts with access. For low-income, vulnerable, and disproportionately impacted households across Arizona, affordable spay/neuter care isn't always within reach.

That's why we help fund low-cost clinics who go to them. Our partners deliver low-cost surgeries directly to the communities that need them most. This International Homeless Animals' Day, we're celebrating our roots because every surgery is one step closer to a future with fewer animals left without homes. šŸ¾

At our last Dogs Day Out AZ homeless outreach, we saw firsthand how many dogs needed booties to protect their paws. šŸ„¾šŸ¾

The dog days of summer are hereā€”and in the Arizona heat, hot pavement is no walk in the park! Dog booties help shield sensitive paw pads from hot sidewalks and asphalt, but they donā€™t prevent overheating. Walk early, wait until surfaces cool, and keep water nearby.

Because every pup deserves cool paws, happy feet and a little summer shoe game. šŸ¶šŸ„¾šŸ’›
