🌟🐾 DOG OF THE MONTH: MIRACLE 🐾🌟

At 13 years young, Miss Miracle is proof that age is just a number! ❤️

Every three weeks, Miracle visits American Grooming Academy for her spa day and helps our students practice the skills they'll use throughout their grooming careers. She is one of the kindest, most patient little teachers we could ever ask for.

Whether she's standing quietly for a brush out, posing for photos, or accepting treats from our students, Miracle always brings smiles wherever she goes. Her gentle nature helps build confidence in our future groomers and reminds us why we love what we do.

Thank you, Miracle, for being such an important part of the AGA family. We are so grateful for every wag, every kiss, and every lesson you help teach. 🩷

🌈🐾 World Pet Memorial Day 🐾🌈

If you've loved a pet, you've likely had to say goodbye to one.

Today, we remember the wagging tails, the happy purrs, the muddy paw prints, the chewed-up shoes, the late-night cuddles, and all the little moments that became some of our biggest memories.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day 🐾

At American Grooming Academy, rescue dogs hold a special place in our hearts. These incredible dogs often come from difficult beginnings, yet they continue to show resilience, trust, loyalty, and unconditional love.

Rescue dogs are more than companions — they become family members, children’s best friends, emotional support partners, service dogs, and life-changing protectors for the people who need them most. From helping ease anxiety and PTSD to bringing comfort, confidence, and independence, their impact is truly endless.

🌎🐶 WORLD DOG DAY IS THIS SATURDAY! 🐶🌎

This weekend, we’re celebrating the incredible bond between humans and dogs — the goofy ones, the loyal ones, the dramatic ones, the rescue dogs, the seniors, the puppies… ALL of them. 💕

Did you know World Dog Day was founded in 2016 by Lisa Vanderpump to help raise awareness about ending the dog meat trade and to celebrate the love and protection dogs deserve worldwide?

At American Grooming Academy, we believe dogs are family. They comfort us, protect us, make us laugh, and somehow always know when we need them most. 🥹🐾

Today is Chihuahua Appreciation Day! 💕🐶

Tiny dogs… HUGE personalities. 😅

At American Grooming Academy, we know Chihuahuas can sometimes be a little nervous, spicy, dramatic, or extra vocal during grooming — but honestly? That’s part of what makes them so lovable. Their bold personalities packed into tiny bodies are exactly why the breed has such a loyal fan base.

Did you know Chihuahuas are one of the oldest dog breeds in the Americas and are believed to descend from the ancient Techichi dogs of Mexico? 🇲🇽 They may be small, but they are incredibly intelligent, alert, and deeply attached to their people.

Because many Chihuahuas are sensitive to handling, cold temperatures, sudden movements, and unfamiliar environments, our team takes extra time to help them feel safe and comfortable during grooming appointments. We move slowly, speak softly, use gentle handling techniques, and allow them time to build trust at their own pace. 💗

Some Chihuahuas come in trembling…
