In most parts of the country, that comes in waves. It starts, it peaks, and it slows down. However, in the southern states, it doesnโt.
๐๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฐ๐๐๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ, ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐งโ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐. Intake doesnโt slow. Litters keep coming. Week after week.
That means shelters donโt get relief.
And when space fills up, horrible decisions have to be made.
Not just for large dogs, who are already at a disadvantage and often wait the longest, but also for puppies and kittens. Because kennel space is finite, and every kennel matters.
