Dental disease in animals….

Stage is based on total periodontal attachment loss, which reflects loss of alveolar bone and supporting periodontal structures anchoring the tooth.

(Comment “TOOTH” and I’ll send you the link to my Ultimate Veterinary Notes Bundle — packed with visual guides like this to help you learn veterinary medicine faster.)

Grades are assigned to individual teeth. Commonly graded findings include calculus accumulation, furcation exposure, and tooth mobility.

Many clinicians will describe the overall mouth severity based on the worst affected tooth (e.g., “Stage 4 periodontal disease”) for communication and client estimates.

However, the official evaluation is tooth-by-tooth, because periodontal disease can vary throughout the mouth!

COME MEET COKE!
Coke is a stunning female mixed breed who was surrendered to the shelter along with Pepsi by her owners who could no longer afford to care for her. Coke is very loving and affectionate. She knows commands and his house broken. Coke is up to date on shots and has been spayed. She will be at pet supplies Plus located in Hillsdale, NJ Saturday January 31st and Sunday, February 1st, 2:30 until 5:30. There are no same-day adoptions. We have applications at the store. And in order to be considered for her adoption, we need to meet the entire family and any dogs that you own. For more information on Coke, check our pet finder website. Kindly share this post with your friends on social media. Coke Would love to be in a home of her own. Thanks!

Meet Pai Lin. She spent 25 years carrying tourists, sometimes up to six at a time. The heavy weight broke her spine and left her with scars from the seats strapped to her back.

Elephants are not built to carry loads like horses. The strain causes pain and lasting injuries.

In 2007, Pai Lin was rescued by Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand. Now she lives safely in their sanctuary, cared for and free, though the damage to her body cannot be fixed.

This is the reality of elephant tourism. It may look fun in photos, but it leaves animals with broken bodies and broken lives. Always choose sanctuaries that care for, not exploit, elephants.
