🐾💙 Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 💙🐾

This week, we're celebrating the dedication, compassion, and hard work that go into caring for our patients every day at The PAWS Clinic! We shared a post earilier this week but we wanted to show the faces of our patient care team!

From preparing patients for surgery and monitoring anesthesia to providing comfort during recovery, veterinary medicine takes knowledge, skill, patience, and a whole lot of heart. 🩺🐶🐱

We're also incredibly proud of our Licensed Veterinary Technician and our Veterinary Assistants, who work together to ensure every patient receives the care they deserve. And a thank you to our cross-trained clinic assistants who lend a helping hand when needed!

Behind the scenes, there are early mornings, endless laundry, plenty of cleaning, lots of teamwork, and, of course, a little bit of fur on everything! 🐾

Every patient matters. Every surgery matters. And every member of our team makes a difference.

Please join us in celebrating the hardworking individuals who dedicate their days to making a difference in the lives of animals in our community. We couldn't do what we do without them! 💙

🎃👻 Halloween Can Be Spooky for Pets, Too! 🐾

Halloween is full of tricks, treats, and spooky surprises, but for our four-legged friends, all that excitement can be a little overwhelming!

Before the ghosts and goblins come knocking, here are a few ways to keep your pets safe this Halloween! 🧡

🚪 Beware of the Great Escape!
With trick-or-treaters constantly ringing the doorbell, even the most well-behaved pet might make a run for it. Keep pets secured in a quiet room, away from frequently opened doors, and make sure their microchip information is up to date!

👻 Not Everyone Loves a Costume Party!
Costumes can restrict movement, vision, or breathing. If your pet seems uncomfortable, skip the costume! A festive bandana is just as adorable.

🕸️ Decorations Can Be Dangerous!
Dangling decorations, fake cobwebs, electrical cords, and small plastic pieces can be tempting to curious pets. Keep anything that could be chewed or swallowed out of reach.

🔔 Ding D**g! Who's There?!
Strangers in costumes, unusual noises, and constant doorbell ringing can be stressful. Give your pet a cozy, quiet space where they can relax away from the excitement.

🕯️ Keep the Spooky Glow Safe!
Use battery-operated candles instead of open flames to prevent burns and accidental fires.

🐾 Remember: Your Pet Doesn't Have to Participate!
Some pets love the excitement, while others would much rather spend Halloween curled up on the couch. Both are perfectly okay!

Every dog deserves a reason to wag their tail, but today, we want to give a little extra love to the dogs still waiting for their happily ever after. 🏡

Across the country, shelters and rescues are filled with wonderful dogs waiting for someone to give them a chance. Some are young and full of energy, others are seniors looking for a soft place to land, and some just need a little extra patience and understanding. ❤️

Want to make a shelter dog's day? Here's how!

🐾 Adopt, Don't Shop! If you're ready to welcome a new family member, consider opening your heart and home to a shelter dog.

🏡 Become a Foster! Fostering gives dogs a break from shelter life and helps them prepare for their forever homes.

🐕 Volunteer Your Time! A walk, a little playtime, or some one-on-one attention can make a big difference in a shelter dog's day.

🎁 Donate Supplies! Shelters and rescues are always in need of food, toys, blankets, cleaning supplies, and other essentials.

📱 Share an Adoptable Dog! Can't adopt or foster? Sharing a shelter dog's photo might help them reach the person they've been waiting for!

5 feral houses available today!

We will have a few more Thursday too, but that will be the end of what we have available.

If anyone has a hook up on some coolers, we could continue to make a few more.

And, of course, a shout-out to our semi-famous staff member, Dale, who has worked his magic and transformed these coolers into cozy little shelters for outdoor and community cats!

Who knew an old cooler could become a lifesaver for a feral kitty? With a little creativity, some elbow grease, and a whole lot of heart, these coolers are getting a second life helping cats stay warmer and more protected from the elements.

Need or want one for your outdoor cats?
