This is Pearl, a beautiful 7-year-old Sphynx who recently visited us for her annual checkup and dental cleaning. We were able to treat some gingivitis and leave her with teeth that are truly "pearly white!" 😸✨

To help make her blood draw as stress-free as possible, Pearl was wrapped in a cozy "kitty burrito"—a gentle technique that helps many cats feel more secure during their visit.

Whether you're boating, paddleboarding, or spending the day at the lake, a properly fitted life vest can help keep your dog safe. Even strong swimmers can become tired, disoriented, or struggle in rough water.

Before heading out, make sure the life vest fits snugly, look for a vest with a sturdy handle for easy lifting, and never leave your dog unattended near the water.

A little preparation goes a long way toward making summer adventures safe and fun for everyone.

Stella, a playful 5-year-old Lab/Boxer mix owned by our Clinic Administrator, Tisha, recently helped herself to a box of cocoa-covered espresso beans after finding them on the counter.

Thankfully, her family recognized the danger and brought her in right away. Our team immediately induced vomiting, administered activated charcoal, and started IV fluids. Thanks to their quick action, Stella made a full recovery.

⚠️ Chocolate and caffeine are highly toxic to dogs. If you think your pet has eaten something harmful, contact your veterinarian immediately. When it comes to toxin ingestion, every minute counts.

🌱 Ever caught your dog eating grass?

While there's no single proven reason dogs eat grass, it may be related to curiosity, normal canine behavior, boredom, or simply enjoying the taste or texture.

The good news? Occasional grass eating is usually nothing to worry about.

However, if your dog is eating grass excessively or it's accompanied by frequent vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, or other changes in behavior, it's a good idea to schedule an exam.

One more tip: Be sure your dog isn't eating grass that's been treated with fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides, as these products can be harmful to pets. 🐾
