THERAPY DOG IN TRAINING CLASS — STARTING SEPTEMBER 9TH!

Interested in preparing your dog for future therapy work? My upcoming Therapy Dog in Training Class is designed to help dogs and handlers build the advanced obedience, confidence, neutrality, and real-world skills needed to succeed in therapy environments.

Class begins Wednesday, September 9th at 6:15 PM and runs for 6 weeks. Please note that outing times may be slightly earlier or later depending on the location.

Here’s what the 6 weeks will look like:

Week 1 — Peebles Play & Stay
We’ll get to know the dogs and handlers, assess where everyone is at, and work on obedience, focus, calm behavior, greetings, handling, and other skills that will prepare the dogs for our community outings.

Weeks 2–5 — Community Outings
We’ll take our training into the real world! Classes will be held at a variety of community locations, including assisted living facilities and other public environments. Dogs will practice staying calm, focused, confident, and well-mannered around new people, distractions, equipment, noises, and unfamiliar surroundings.

Week 6 — AKC Canine Good Citizen Test at Peebles Play & Stay
We’ll wrap up the course with the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, giving each team the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they’ve built throughout class.

This class is a great fit for friendly, well-mannered dogs who already have a solid foundation of obedience and are ready to take their training to the next level.

IMPORTANT: This course does NOT certify or register your dog as a therapy dog. It is designed to help prepare you and your dog for future therapy work by developing the obedience, temperament, confidence, and public-manners skills commonly needed for therapy dog programs.

Class size is limited to keep outings manageable and allow each team plenty of individual attention.

Wednesday nights beginning September 9th
6:15 PM — outing times may vary slightly
6-week course.

Ready for a calmer, more responsive dog? My next Basic Obedience Class starts September 8th at 6:30 PM, and there are 2 spots remaining!

Over this 6-week course, we’ll work on:

• Sit, down & stay
• Loose-leash walking
• Recall/coming when called
• Place & settling
• Focus around distractions
• Impulse control & everyday manners
• Real life greeting scenarios
• Building better communication between you and your dog

This class is perfect for dogs who know a little but struggle when distractions are around, as well as dogs who are just getting started with obedience.
