💙 Chunk Update... We Need Your Help 💙

When we rescued Chunk, he had spent his life confined to a tiny cage. He had never known what it felt like to run, explore, or just be a puppy.

Today, he knows love. He knows soft beds, belly rubs, and that every person he meets is probably a new best friend.

But his body still reminds him every day that life isn't easy.

Chunk's neurological and mobility issues make long walks painful and exhausting. His heart wants to go everywhere with us... but his legs simply can't.

We're hoping to change that.

🐾 A backpack carrier would let Chunk join us on hikes and adventures when he gets tired.
🐾 A stroller would help him enjoy festivals, parks, and family outings without putting stress on his back and legs.
🐾 We'd also love to try acupuncture, which has helped so many dogs with neurological conditions and chronic pain. We're hopeful it could improve his comfort and quality of life.

One minute he was minding his business... the next he had rearranged the landscaping like he was auditioning for HGTV: Bulldog Edition.

💙 A little wish for our special boy, Chunk. 💙

As many of you know, Chunk isn't your typical bulldog.

He came into our lives after a rough start, and despite the challenges he faces every single day, he wakes up happy, determined, and ready to be wherever his family is. His back legs and spine don't always cooperate, but his heart never got the memo that he's "different."

My husband and I are planning a small vacation, and more than anything, we wish Chunk could experience it with us. Unfortunately, long walks and rocky trails just aren't something his body can handle.

We've found the K9 Sport Sack Kolossus, which would allow one of us to safely carry him so he can safely enjoy the adventure with us. It's designed to properly support larger dogs with mobility issues—but it's also more than we can comfortably afford right now.

This is a huge long shot, and asking for help isn't easy. If anyone has a used one they're no longer using, knows where we can find one at a discount, or would like to help us get one for Chunk, we would be beyond grateful.

Chunk has overcome so much already, and all we want is for him to be able to experience life alongside us instead of staying behind because his body can't keep up.

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
This is Chunk.
Chunk believes he is the official security guard of the backyard, even though:
• he is shaped like a bowling ball
• he has the legs of a coffee table
• and he takes breaks every 14 steps
But the attitude? Elite.
Chunk is a special little dude who may have spina bifida, and we’re trying to get him to a neurologist for confirmation and treatment options so we can give him the best life possible.
He also goes through diapers, wipes, and supplies constantly, because this tiny tank has some mobility challenges.
And yet… every single day he still marches outside like a retired mob boss inspecting his territory.
He refuses to give up.
So we’re not giving up on him either.

A Quick Note About Communication & Support for Chunk 🖤
I want to take a moment to address something openly.
First, I am incredibly grateful for every single person who has offered to help Chunk — whether through donations, supplies, sharing posts, or simply kind words. None of this is taken for granted.
That said, the last couple of months have been overwhelming for our family. Between Chunk’s medical needs, multiple emergency hospital visits for my children, and my husband missing work to manage everything, communication has not always been what it should be. If you reached out and did not receive a response, or if we had plans that I failed to follow through on, I sincerely apologize. That was never intentional or personal.
We are doing our best to juggle a lot right now. Sometimes messages get buried. Sometimes days get away from us. It is not a reflection of a lack of appreciation for help — it’s simply real life happening all at once.

Chunk Update 🖤
This picture pretty much sums up Chunk right now — tired, trying so hard, and still showing up every day with that little tongue out like, “I’m doing my best, I promise.”
Chunk is healing, but we’re still very much in the thick of it. His body has come a long way since rescue, but we’re still dealing with ongoing incontinence and neurologic concerns. We haven’t been able to fully confirm spina bifida yet, and the next critical step is getting him to a neurologist so we can finally understand what’s going on and what his long-term care needs to look like.
Right now: • We’re running low on diapers (L/XL — reusable and disposable both)
• Vet costs are stacking up
• A neurologist consult is essential but expensive
Chunk didn’t ask for any of this. He spent the beginning of his life neglected, confused, and uncomfortable — and now he’s finally safe, loved, and getting care… but he still needs help to keep going.
If you’ve followed his story, shared his posts, sent supplies, or donated even once — thank you. Truly. And if you’re able to help again, whether by donating, sending diapers, or simply sharing his story, it makes a real difference for this little guy.
He deserves answers.
He deserves comfort.

This is Chunk.
Yes, he’s wearing a diaper.
Yes, he’s judging you.
And YES — some absolute legend just anonymously blessed him like a chaotic fairy godparent.
📦 WHAT SHOWED UP:
• A WHOLE BOX of wipes (RIP my paper towels)
• A bag of his food (he screamed internally)
• RECOVERY SUITS (he hates them, I love them)
• THREE reusable diapers (his p**p lawyer has advised him to say nothing)
Whoever you are…
You didn’t just send supplies.
You sent relief, dignity, and fewer 3am “WHY IS IT WET” moments.
Chunk has been through hell — abuse, neglect, surgeries, mystery neurology nonsense — and now he’s out here rocking diapers like it’s couture.
He was never in diapers before this.
Now he’s basically sponsored by wipes and vibes.
He’s healing.
He’s safe.
He’s loved.
He’s still p**ping unpredictably — but now we’re prepared.
