It's a steady weekend here at the kennel -which means what I like to call "busy season" is right around the corner.

More friends will be joining us tomorrow! ☺️

I'd like to take a moment to honor someone that, unfortunately, not many of you had the chance to know: my late mother, Anita Taylor. Today would have been her birthday.

Without my mom, Taylor Hill Dog Kennel would not exist.

The kennel was a dream she and my dad shared more than 46 years ago. Years after she passed, I found an old love letter she had written to my father before I was even born.

In that letter, she wrote:

"Someday we will have our animal kingdom."

Sadly, my mother passed away from cancer in 2015 before the kennel ever opened—the same cancer that would take my father seven years later. 💔

My mom helped choose the kennel's name and even influenced parts of the layout. She's also the secret reason the turf outside rarely has an odor.

She loved dogs, birds, and animals of all kinds. At one point, the kennel even considered welcoming cats as well!

I truly hope she's proud.

She never got the chance to see me design the sign, create the logo, or watch this dream become reality.

Life is short. Love fiercely. Be kind. Treat people well. 💙

Its almost that time .... summer time that is!

The kennel sees its busy season between mid June - August so let's start booking those June appointments once plans are solid!
