SafeHaven Humane Society is a privately funded non-profit that receives no government funding. Support from the community and donations from people like you help to keep our doors open to the over 2,500 animals that we take in and adopt out each year. Programs Offered

SafeHaven offers, but is not limited to, the following programs: Dog and cat adoptions, Humane Education, Cats Count (a low cost spay/neuter program for cats available to qualifying Linn County residents), volunteer opportunities and Behavioral Training classes. A HUGE thank-you to Amara for creating 100 care packages for SafeHaven’s adoptable cats and kittens as part of her Eagle Scout Service Project! 🐱💗

Each lucky adopter gets to take home a goodie bag filled with toys, a handmade blanket, and a small bag of the same food we serve our shelter pets. What a thoughtful way to help our kitties feel extra loved as they head off to their forever homes! 🏡

And we already have proof that Amara’s hard work is making an impact! According to her mom, sweet Hazel fell asleep mid-play in her heated bed snuggled up in the blanket Amara made. It was too soft to resist a little cat nap. 😴💤

Thank you, Amara, for sharing your time, talent, and heart with our furry friends. You’re making a difference, one cozy kitty at a time! 💕🐾

🌟 Meet Our Pets of the Week 🌟
📅 October 19th-25th!

🐶 Ron (Dog)
Ron is a sweet 6-year-old boy who came to SafeHaven from Marion County Animal Services, and this happy guy is ready to find his forever family! He’s a high-energy, food-motivated fellow who loves staying busy – but he’s also a total cuddle bug when it’s time to slow down.

What’s the way to Ron’s heart? Cuddles and treats! Give him a little affection and a tasty snack, and you’ll have a very happy boy on your hands. Ron loves people and enjoys getting attention from staff and volunteers. He’d love a family who can keep his body and brain busy with playtime, activities, and plenty of love – with a few treats sprinkled in, of course!

We’re unsure how Ron is with cats and other small animals, so careful introductions and appropriate supervision are recommended. His family should be prepared to take introductions slowly and give him time to adjust. If you have resident dogs, we highly recommend bringing them to SafeHaven for a meet and greet with our animal care staff.

If you’re looking for a playful guy with a soft spot for snacks and snuggles, Ron would love to meet you!

🐈 Fredo (Cat)
Hi, it’s me, Fredo! I came to SafeHaven with my friends, Carmella and Big Lou, and now I’m ready to find my forever family!

I’m a sweet guy hoping someone will see my adorable face and know that I’m the perfect addition to their family. Could you be the one I’ve been waiting for? Come meet me and let’s see if we’re a match!

🌟 Think either of these two handsome boys could be just what you've been looking for? We sure hope so! Special Offer: As our featured Pets of the Week, their adoption fees are 50% OFF, now through Sunday! And don't forget, ALL of our adoptable animals have 50% off adoption fees this Thursday! 🌟

A HUGE THANK YOU to Central Willamette Credit Union for spending their morning with us here at SafeHaven on Monday! 🐾

The team of ~20 people dedicated their time to helping the animals and shelter staff with our community program, Pet Food Pantry, assisting with Cat Floor cleaning, and even making enrichment treats for the dogs! Everyone was in great spirits, worked hard, and of course got some good animal cuddle time for their efforts. We spent a good amount of time with adoptable dog, Bia, in one of our large play yards and boy did she love every second of that! Bia would make a stellar family dog, in case anyone is interested. 😉

Additionally, this wonderful group were so thoughtful and kind, they also presented SafeHaven with a check for just over $1300 to benefit our fuzzy friends' care.
We are so grateful for teams like this that are willing to donate their time to our animals in need.

🌟 Meet Our Pets of the Week 🌟
📅 October 12th-18th!

🐶 Nero (Dog)
Nero is a sweet 7-year-old Shepherd mix who came all the way from Mexico and is ready to find his forever family! This handsome gentleman has a heart of gold and is about as gentle as they come. If his adorable tail wag and puppy smile doesn’t melt your heart, his loving gentle personality is due to draw you in.

Nero is a huge cuddle bug. He is most happy when he can be by your side and loves any and all pets you can give him. This sweet man is looking for his forever people to spend his golden years with.

Nero walks with a slight limp, but don’t let that fool you – he’s still ready to enjoy the good stuff! He loves soaking up attention and would be perfectly happy spending his golden years surrounded by people who adore him.

This lovable guy is looking for a family who will give him the love, comfort, and patience he deserves. In return, Nero will be there to remind you that sometimes the best adventures are the quiet ones.

We’re still learning how Nero is with cats and other small animals, so careful introductions and appropriate supervision are recommended. If you have resident dogs, we highly recommend bringing them to SafeHaven for a meet and greet with our animal care staff.

🐈 Fiorella (Cat)
This petite tabby has pretty markings, a big personality, and plenty of kitten energy left in her. She was a wonderful mama to her babies, and now she’s ready to be the one getting all the love!

Fiorella enjoys feather wand games, kicking a ball around, and even grooming her favorite stuffed animals. She loves being near her people and other animals, and she’s happy to be carried around for some extra quality time. When she’s ready to slow down, you can find her soaking up the sunshine by a window and keeping an eye on the world outside.

Fiorella is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and sweet, and she’s ready to find a home of her very own!

🌟 Think Nero or Fiorella is the perfect pet for you? We sure hope so! Special Offer: As our featured Pets of the Week, their adoption fees are 50% OFF, now through Sunday! 🌟

We hope you can forgive us for looking at our ringing phones and dinging emails much like Odin looks at a camera.😂

Today is October’s Waived Adoption Fee Day, which means our staff are busy helping animals find their forever homes! As a result, our response time to phone calls and emails may be a little slower than normal.

If you’re interested in adopting today, we recommend stopping by the shelter in person with any questions. This will be the fastest way to get assistance from our team while we’re busy helping animals head home.

Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you! All messages will be returned as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we help as many animals find their forever homes as possible today!
