Farmer Carly showing off what a difference 20 days can make on the farm. Field C had its cover crop mowed and tilled, then it rested, was w**ded, tilled again, smoothed and its carrot seeds planted 🥕 Now we w**d, water and wait. Catch us outside in 65-70 days drippin with carrots 🥕🥕🥕 Nothing beats a fresh Meacham carrot.

Across four detailed classes, you’ll learn how to plan, create, and maintain a productive edible garden specific to Florida’s unique growing conditions. Each class combines in depth guidance with a hands-on component to familiarize yourself with materials and techniques.

Your Instructor: Alex Serrao
With over 10 years of organic agriculture experience, Farmer Alex has managed and worked on farms in various regions of the country with a primary focus on vegetable production. This experience has given her a rich, nuanced understanding in not just the technical aspects of sustainably growing food but also in how it serves various human communities and our greater ecosystems. She is passionate about connecting people with the world of plants, edible or not, and believes we could all benefit from having relationships with our outdoor environment. Alex currently consults and works with home gardeners and professionals alike, bringing her knowledge and skills to various projects that include growing food and creating resilient, mixed species spaces.

Your favorite locally grown, organic veggies are coming back sooner than you think!! The 2026-2027 crop plan is finished and we’re ready to get planting 💪🏽🌱 Seeds will get started, cover crop will get tilled in and we’ll be on our way.
