Major thank yous to Elena, Gianna, Heidi and Ben for their help this morning in unloading 109 bales of peanut hay and helping get it up in the barn - between thunder, lightning and rain cells coming through. We had to push back to 10 am to start but we did finish in just over 2 hours.....which is amazing for only 5 people. We called it Girl Power and Ben! LOL These folks were AWESOME!!!!! When I woke up this morning I was so upset thinking we wouldn't have anyone to help but this was a group of Storm Troopers and got 'er done!!! I couldn't help but spit my ice tea all over the keyboard while laughing uncontrollably last night when I ran across a request for volunteers (by Gianna) on various Facebook lists advertising me as elderly. Yep, I am elderly but can still kick it!!! If you weren't here, you missed out on a good work out, lots of fun and goodies to take home. Thank you team!!!

Tomorrow is HAY DAY - 9am - and we desperately need volunteers to help unload and put in the barn. If you can't lift bales, no worries, we team lift. No volunteer goes home empty handed! Please let me know if you can come.....thank you.

We are actively seeking milkers. You would be responsible (with a team member) for milking the goats, feeding the dry goats, haying all the goats and pouring the milk into jugs. This is ideal for high schoolers (you MUST be 15 and over) for Bright Future hours, National Honor Society hours, etc. It is a 6 month commitment and you must commit to one approx 4 hours shift per week (evenings 5-8/9). It takes 5 trainings with some of our more experienced milkers in a 2 week period to become a milker. There is also a token gas allowance for milking once you are trained. This is not "come and pet the goats" for three hours, but it is really work. But it will be some of the most fun times you have ever had and you will fall in love with our darlin's. Message me if you are interested or need more information. Thank you!

SOS SOS SOS We have 100 bales of perennial peanut hay coming on Friday at 9am and desperately need help unloading and putting up in the barn (we have a hoist). If you can possibly help, we need you!! Please message me if you can come. With 5-6 volunteers (you will not leave empty handed) we can get it up there in a couple hours. Thank you!!

Chickens routinely live among the goats here and lay eggs in the hay. They're mostly banty hens and roosters dropped off by people who buy chickens without considering the work and money involved in keeping them. We frequently collect the eggs, but occasionally they hatch and we get to see the little ones following their mama in and out of the barn stalls and even perching atop the goats.

Our beloved barn cat Smudge crossed the rainbow bridge today, comforted at the end by two of our feline-loving volunteers. Smudge will be so missed! Word from heaven is that a contingent of our late, great barn cats gathered to greet Smudge at the other side of the rainbow 🌈 bridge. 💔❤️
