Female t+ albino Chinese beauty. I’ve heard this look referred to as hypo before. I’m of the opinion this is an amelanistic animal instead of a hypo. Between the amount of melanin pigment that is absent and the red eyes, causes me to believe it’s amelanistic instead of hypo melanistic. What do you guys think? What are your thoughts and why?

Coelognathus has always been a favorite of mine. Colubrid wise, I mostly focus on beauties and Japanese rats but I will always try to keep a couple Coelognathus species. I personally like the look and variability of wild type radiated rats. Super underrated species that has a lot of potential with selective breeding.

The snake collection has really grown to have a focus on beauty snakes. Even though I have a few subspecies, Chinese beauties are one I’m focusing on with all the morphs. This guy was from a clutch that threw calicos, aneries, and amels. I have him labeled as a calico but I have my suspicions he has more going on than that. I feel like it’ll be easier to tell once he has some more size on him. What do you think?

Here’s one I haven’t shared yet. She’s part of the garden tiger group. She is holding onto the reddish brown color a lot longer than my other garden tigers have so I’m hopeful she hangs on to some of it as she continues to mature. Time will tell.
