Only a few days left before the end of the month. Will you be the winner ?

Everything was going right… until one of the chicks suddenly died.
The hardest part is… I still don’t know why.

After finally having a successful breeding season with my plumhead parrots, things seemed like they were finally turning around.

Multiple chicks hatched, including a rare lutino I had been hoping to produce for a long time. They were growing, feeding well, and showing all the signs of a strong start.

And then… something changed.

One of the chicks suddenly passed away.

No clear warning. No obvious cause.

In this video, I walk through everything that led up to that moment — from incubation, hatching, and hand-feeding… to the reality that even when you do everything right, things can still go wrong.

This is the side of bird breeding people don’t always see.

The uncertainty. The responsibility. The moments that stay with you long after they happen.

The rest of the chicks are still here… still growing… but now, the question is:

Will they make it?

🦜 What You’ll See In This Video:

• Plumhead parrot breeding journey (Part 3)
• Artificial incubation results
• Baby parrot care (day 1–12+)
• Hand-feeding routine
• Leg banding process
• The reality of chick loss in bird breeding

If you’ve been following this journey, thank you for sticking with it.

And if you’re new here… this is what it really looks like behind the scenes.

Keeping baby parrots alive is harder than you think… especially in the first few days after they hatch.
Here’s what it really takes to raise them from day one.

Have you ever wondered what it actually takes to keep a baby bird alive from the moment it hatches?

Not when they’re fully feathered and strong… but in those first fragile days where every hour matters.

In my last video, after two years of failed breeding seasons, I finally had success incubating and hatching plumhead parrot chicks. But what most people don’t see… is what comes next.

Because hatching is just the beginning.

In this video, I take you through the reality of raising baby parrots from day one — the hourly feedings, the sleepless nights, and the constant attention it takes to give these chicks a chance at survival.

Now a little older, the chicks are growing stronger every day, and we’ve reached an important milestone: leg banding. Each chick receives a unique ID band that tracks their hatch year and lineage, connecting them back to the pairs that produced them.

So far, we have multiple chicks, including both normal and lutino plumhead parrots, and while this season is already going better than previous years… the journey is far from over.

There’s still a long road ahead before they’re fully grown and independent.

🦜 What You’ll See In This Video:

• Raising baby parrots from day one
• Hourly hand-feeding routine (24/7 care)
• Growth and development (first 12 days)
• Leg banding process and identification
• Lutino genetics in plumhead parrots
• Real challenges behind bird breeding

If you’re interested in parrot breeding, baby birds, or want to see how these chicks continue to grow, make sure to follow along — there’s a lot more to come.

In this video, I’m building brand new flight cages for my aviary and upgrading the space for my birds.

This setup is a big part of how I manage new arrivals, giving them a proper quarantine period before introducing them into my breeding program. Quarantine is something I take seriously—it protects the entire aviary and gives each bird time to adjust and be monitored closely.

While working on the cages, I also take a break to feed some plum head parakeet chicks that I’ve been hand-raising from eggs I incubated myself. The last couple of weeks have been nonstop feedings, but seeing them grow stronger every day makes it all worth it.

This video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into building, maintaining, and caring for birds the right way.

If you’re building a mixed finch aviary or planning to keep multiple species together, choosing the right combinations is critical. In this video, we break down which finch species are peaceful, which are pushy, and which should be housed alone to avoid stress, fighting, or breeding failures.

Learn which finches thrive in community aviaries — including waxbills, firefinches, parrot finches, twinspots, and more — and discover the species that experienced aviculturists recommend keeping separately.

Whether you keep Gouldian finches, waxbills, grassfinches, or rare estrildids, this guide will help you create a balanced, low-stress aviary environment that promotes natural behavior and successful breeding.

📌 In this video:

Peaceful finches ideal for mixed aviaries
Semi-aggressive species to monitor carefully
Aggressive finches that need species-only setups
Aviary compatibility tips from real aviculture experience
Common mistakes when mixing finch species

Perfect for beginners and advanced bird keepers alike.

🐦 Species Discussed

Gouldian Finches, Society Finches, Orange Breasted Waxbills, Lavender Waxbills, Red-Billed Firefinches, Greenback Twinspots, Cuban Melodious Finches, Parrot Finches, Diamond Firetails, Peters Twinspots, Dybowski Twinspots, and more.

How much does it REALLY cost to build a bird room?

In this video, I break down the full reality behind building my bird room—from the structure itself to the hidden costs most people never talk about. This isn’t just cages and birds… it’s ventilation, lighting, insulation, daily maintenance, and everything in between.

I spent over $20,000 building this setup… and in this video, I’m showing you exactly why.

If you’ve ever thought about building your own bird room, breeding birds, or taking your setup to the next level… this is something you need to see first.

Because the truth is—
it costs more than you think.

What I cover in this video:

* The real purpose of a bird room
* Aluminum insulated walls & roof panels
* Ventilation & air quality setup
* Lighting systems and why they matter
* Cage costs and setup decisions
* Hidden expenses nobody talks about
* Ongoing costs (this never stops)

My total cost: $20,000+

After two years of failed breeding seasons, I decided to take a risk that could either save or completely ruin my plumhead parrot breeding season… artificial incubation.

This year, I pulled every egg from my plumhead parrots and placed them into an incubator, hoping to finally understand what had been going wrong. What followed was an emotional rollercoaster filled with early embryo loss, difficult decisions, sleepless nights, and moments where I truly thought the season was over.

But then… the eggs started hatching.

In this video, you’ll experience the full journey — from candling eggs and unexpected complications, to assisted hatching, hourly hand-feeding, and watching brand new plumhead chicks fight their way into the world.

So far, five chicks have hatched, including both normal and lutino plumheads, and many more eggs are still on the way. The journey isn’t finished yet, but for the first time in years, this breeding season is finally moving in the right direction.

This is the side of parrot breeding people don’t always see — the patience, the stress, the learning process, and the incredible moments that make it all worth it.

If you enjoy real breeding journeys, incubation projects, and watching baby parrots grow from day one, you’re in the right place.
