Meet Callie, our Pet of the Month!

Callie spent some time medical boarding here with us as she recovered from surgery. During her stay, she got to enjoy lots of cuddles and Churu (her favorite)! While we miss her little meows and head butts, we know she is enjoying her time back home with her family. 🐾🐈

✨️ Happy National Check the Chip Day ✨️

"This is Boone and (perhaps his sister) Precious.  My friend Christine found Boone at the Pasco County Animal Shelter and tried to adopt him.  She requested that Boone get microchipped before he came home.  She was told to come back the following morning to pick up her dog.

She returned the following morning and was given Precious.  She had only met Boone once, they’re both Brendel color, and there was such a flurry of activity when she picked up the dog, she didn’t immediately notice if was the wrong dog! Not until they got home did Christine realize she had a girl dog. She was certain she was adopting a boy. She called the Animal Shelter to tell them of the mistake, but was dismissed. Anyway, it didn’t matter, she already loved Precious.

Fast forward three days….

My son’s girlfriend found Boone stuck in a median along FL-56.  He would have been hit and killed in moments.  Kaylea opened her door and Boone jumped right in.  She brought him to our house, which is now his home.  The kids scoured the web looking for someone missing Boone.  There were no posts.

A month later, after deciding to give Boone a permanent home, I took Boone to Pebble Creek Animal Hospital for vaccinations and to get microchipped.  My [technician],and I apologize but I forgot her name, checked Boone one last time before he was microchipped.  She found one!  I called the number, left a message, and Christine called me back.  We shared stories and realized our dog’s potential connections.

Boone and I met Christine and Precious at the dog park off Morris Bridge Road the following Sunday.  It was unreal how the two seemed to know each other.

Christine and I now meet every 2 weeks with the pups at the dog park."
