Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook (Meta) is demanding that my animal welfare page PAY a monthly fee ($50 for 8 links) to continue sharing outside links.

Hope for Misfits uses links to help people:
🐾 Submit foster and adoption applications
🐾 Donation drives for rescues and shelters
🐾 Learn about adoptable dogs via the dog's profile on the rescue site
🐾 Find lost dogs
🐾 View adoptable dogs
🐾 Sign animal-welfare petitions

These are not sales links. They help reunite families and save animals’ lives.

Facebook will not even allow me to place a petition link in a comment because I have “used all” of my links for the month.

A missing dog’s family should not lose valuable time because an animal welfare page cannot share the dog’s listing. Shelters, rescues and advocates should not have to pay Facebook to help animals get home, adopted or saved.

Please end this test or exempt animal-welfare organizations.

Scruffy faces EUTHANASIA September 9 because of KENNEL STRESS. Please sign the PETITION so fewer dogs suffer like this.

Imagine spending 206 days confined to a kennel with constant barking and noise surrounding you. Personally, I know I would start to lose my mind.

This is Scruffy. He is only 1½ years old, but after nearly seven months in the shelter, the stress has become overwhelming. He bounces off the walls, paces and desperately searches for a way out. And the sad thing is? He was too scared to walk or come up for a treat even for 170 days. Then he broke. This is kennel stress, not a “crazy” or bad dog.

Now he will pay with this life if no one steps up.

Please sign and share the petition for a new Hillsborough County shelter. Facebook will not allow pages to post more than 2 external links a month, but its in my prior post here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1chgMiY5Ei/

The current shelter is 40 years old, severely overcrowded, has no air conditioning or heat, floods when it storms and does not have enough space to provide proper medical care or even keep up with the laundry. PRC tries their best but cannot provide the calm, stable environment or resources Scruffy needs, and he is not the only dog suffering.

When Scruffy feels safe, he accepts affection, sits in volunteers’ laps and looks to people for reassurance. During an Adventure Tail outside the shelter, he walked well on leash, had little reaction to other dogs and happily accepted pets.

Scruffy has a final deadline of September 9 at 5 p.m. Without an adoption or rescue commitment, euthanasia will be authorized.

He cannot be fostered or Pawditioned. He must be adopted or rescued with a wellness consultation.

Please sign the petition and please share Scruffy. Both urgently need our voices.

Before summer ends, let’s take one last vacation to Denali and Acadia! 🏔️☀️

These two 1 year old girls from Mercy Full Project aren’t national parks, but they are a bonded pair searching for one forever home. 🤍

Denali is the quieter, more laid-back one. She loves peaceful days, cozy naps and staying close to the people she trusts.

Acadia is a little more outgoing and playful. She loves exploring the yard, learning new commands and curling up beside her people afterward.

Together, they help each other feel safe and confident.

🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Making great progress with potty training
🐾 Calm around other dogs
🐾 Affectionate and mostly quiet
🐾 Spayed, vaccinated and microchipped

Both girls are heartworm positive. They would love to be adopted together. If they must be separated, each will need a dog sibling in her new home.

Denali and Acadia are available through Mercy Full Project. Their adoption fees are $350 each.

Their names belong on a travel itinerary, but these best friends really just want a safe place to call home. Please share! 🏡🐾

It’s the unofficial last weekend of summer, so all weekend long we’re featuring adoptable dogs with names that bring the sunshine! ☀️ First up is Sun from Love4Paws!

Sun is a 1-year-old, 55-pound hound mix who was found abandoned in an apartment with her nine puppies. Now that her puppies are safe, it’s Sun’s turn to find the family she deserves.

☀️ Potty trained
☀️ Great on a leash
☀️ Loves car rides and outdoor adventures
☀️ Good with kids
☀️ Has done well meeting other dogs
☀️ Spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

Sun has made so much progress in her foster home. Once she trusts you, she wants to stay close and follow you everywhere. She needs a patient family who will continue building her confidence and show her that she is finally safe.

Sun is being fostered in Tampa and is available through Love4Paws. Her adoption fee is $250.

Let’s help Sun end the summer with a forever family! ☀️🐾

We danced. We shared. But not one of them was adopted. 💔

Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba and Jazz were all featured for Tuesday Dance Day, and every one of them is still waiting. Please take another look and share this post so their future families have a better chance of finding them.

💃 SALSA (A2351665)
Salsa is 4 years old and 57 pounds. She is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash and rides nicely in the car. She has been friendly with people of all ages and has done well with dogs. She needs a home without cats.

🐾 CHA CHA (A2295271)
Cha Cha is 7 years old and 51 pounds. Outside her kennel, she was calm, easy to leash and walked without pulling. She enjoyed quietly roaming and sniffing—and we would love to see her cha-cha her way onto someone’s couch.

🌸 RUMBA (A2544015)
Rumba is a 56-pound adolescent who is very frightened and shut down in the shelter. She allows handling but has sometimes been too scared to walk and needed to be carried. She needs someone gentle and patient who will give her time to feel safe.

🎷 JAZZ (A2541350)
Jazz is a 62-pound adolescent who came to the shelter through no fault of her own. She is young, affectionate, and takes treats gently. She deserves the opportunity to start a new chapter with a family of her own.

All four are available through Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center

Even if you can’t adopt, please share. One share could be the reason one of these girls finally gets noticed. 🐾

This is Moose’s first day in a foster home.

We don’t know where his family went or what his life looked like before he ended up at the shelter in July.

Moose is 8 years old and 81 lbs. He’s carrying the stress of the shelter with him.

At the shelter, volunteers watched him pace, cry, search for exits, and struggle whenever someone walked away. He wanted one thing more than anything else: to be close to someone.

He’s potty trained. He knows sit, shake, and lay down. He takes treats gently. He loves being near people. And when he finally feels safe enough to relax, he’ll curl up in a bed and sleep.

Today, Moose is out of the kennel and in a foster home.

He doesn’t understand yet that he’s safe. He doesn’t know if this person is going to disappear too.

So for now, he whines.

He just needs time to decompress and learn that he is safe. ❤️

Moose (A2538323) is available through Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center.

Contact his foster, Brianna Suite, with any questions about Moose or if you’re interested in meeting him. 🐾
