My regal old lady. I wonder what she was scenting, what thoughts go through her mind? Does she dream of days gone by or is she just living in the now?

It shocks me she survived her younger years, she was all go and no whoa. She never met a situation she didn’t dominate. And once she was on it, there was no negotiations. In her older years she’s a little bit more chill. But she still itches for a battle.

To all our incredible friends:

I have no update on Omen. When I do, I will update.

We are blessed to have had Omen to love and to miss. For me, he has set an incredibly high bar for what an Airedale can do. A working, high drive dog is going to work. I trusted him completely and I can’t stop trusting him now. True to a terrier, he is independent and has always exercised the ability to make his own decisions. I wish he had made a different decision. But I know he’s as strong, capable and intelligent as it gets, so hope is far from lost. At the same time, he is also all terrier and there’s no telling what he went after.

We won’t stop looking for him. But we have made peace with accepting there are things we cannot change. We still have 6 incredible dogs at home to love, take care of and work. I have to regain some semblance of routine and sanity, for their sake.

We hope you all can understand a lack of updating/posting about him is not indicative of him being put of mind. That would be impossible.

Please keep him in your hearts and prayers. And please keep an eye out for him. May the good Lord lead him home, one way or another.

It feels like I’m looking for a needle in a hay stack. We went out and tried to lay down some scent for Omen to follow home. Taking some pictures of Val and Aldi made me smile a bit, I hope you all find some joy in them too. The girls caught some scent but it didn’t seem like it was Omen, more like critters.

MISSING: Omen, 2 years old, approx 100 pounds, 27” at shoulder, black and tan, bobbed tail and microchipped. Omen is used as a livestock guardian dog and may be holed up at abandoned buildings/barns/near a herd. He is safe and broke to all livestock including chickens. He is watchful but not friendly. I would not expect him to approach anyone or any property that is lived in. If you do see him, please don’t approach, as he may take off.

Those of you that know Omen, know he is sticky and usually stays home. Yesterday, he did the unusual and he and Aldi took off, only Aldi returned. We are desperately searching for him. If you see any posts of any dog that may be him, please tag and/or share it with me.

He was last seen around 11am yesterday off of EW700, South of Taloga, OK. He was with me as I was working on the house, when I got off the ladder, he and Aldi were gone. He is microchipped. He has been reported missing. Our community has been incredible in sharing him and looking for him. There has been no trace of him, no sightings. I know if he could return on his own he would and I am concerned. Please keep an eye out for him on FB pages that y’all follow. I am forever grateful for any help. If you are the praying kind, we can use all the prayers right now.

Please understand we are doing everything we can to find him and bring him home. Our family is sick with worry.

Lord, I pray that you cover Omen under your wing. I pray that you keep him safe and allow him to find his way back home. All our faith and hope resides in you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Fate is loving the drop in temps, she says, “Let’s GOOOO!” Before anyone gets upset, she did in fact, get to go. She’s the fastest dog we own. Once you turn her loose, p**f 💨 she’s out. We’ve been in the high 80s during the day and 65-75 in the morning, it’s been really nice. We even have some rain chances this week 🙌🏻.

Omen says, “the dangers abound mom, I’m not letting you outta my sight.” Being out with Omen and Bruiser is a whole different vibe than being out with the girls. Even when the girls stick close, they’re never as close as the boys. The only times the boys venture off is to check out an active threat. Or if I have one of the girls on leash, they’ll range out. Otherwise, they’re convinced I cannot manage on my own lol. I’m officially marked safe from all threats, for today anyhow. But I keep them on their toes 😅.

Val is toeing the line, but she wants to go! This video is from the other day when it was over 100°. She had just got back and wanted to go again. Omen, like always, was stuck to my side, while Val acts as patrol. These past months have been a testament to the importance of hardiness in a line of dogs. They have handled the heat like champs and never lost their drive. They kept up their body condition well. It’s important when having working dogs (any working animal/livestock) to have dogs that can adjust and be easy keepers during stressful times. We want vigor, in all circumstances.

I’m so excited to announce it is 68° today! I tried to get some video today but they were gone as soon as I turned them loose 😅. They said, we’re outta here mom! The pure joy and zoomies are the best!

Bruiser is looking smashing, if I do say. We had a morning that was cooler and foggy, it was like heaven. Brusier looked so regal against the foggy landscape, right?
Bruiser used to stick close to me when Jolene ranged out. Now that Jolene is always leashed and close to me, Bruiser ranges out. He spends about 80% of their walk checking off into the distance. He is such an incredible dog. We are so blessed to have him. Love you big guy.
