Exciting News!

Not only will we have dogs at our adoption event this Saturday, we’ll also have some cats for you to meet and greet! One such cat is Jackie Chan, a kitten that was found with a terrible upper respiratory infection but is now happy, healthy and looking for his forever home!

Come on out with your family to The Hub at Feather Oaks from 9AM-1PM and enjoy live music, free food, vendors and face painting! Make sure you stop by the Proctor Subaru Tallahassee table to grab your food vouchers, two free drink tickets and free swag. Mingle with adoptable pups and go home with your new best friend!

Dog Fosters Needed!

We’re looking for a few temporary dog fosters! All of these pups should be at the Proctor Subaru Dog Adoption event this Saturday, so it’s possible they’ll be adopted! All they need is a soft space to land for a few days.

First up is Valerie! She will need a foster home after Saturday if she’s not adopted. She’s a sweet girl who is good with other dogs and children over 12, and is house trained/crate trained. Unknown about cats, but she's a sweetie who loves to lay around and cuddle.

Next is Cosmo, a lab mix puppy who is around three months old! We believe this will be a very short term foster, so it’ll only be for a few nights. He’s good with other dogs, cats and children and is your typical loveable and chaotic puppy.

We also have a few puppies that we just took into our program that will need a soft space to land after their surgeries tomorrow! They are estimated to be around 8-10 weeks old and will get along with everyone. We also suspect it will be a short-term fostering situation.

Lastly we have Heidi, a 4-5 year old herding dog. From the picture you can see that she’s pretty overweight, so will need a special diet and a foster who is willing to give her gentle exercise. She’s good with other dogs and loves humans, unsure around cats.

With Hurricane Isaias approaching, we’re expecting to take in more animals and help our surrounding counties with pet food. While Tallahassee is not going to be directly hit, from past experience we are preparing to offer aid to those in need.

Our pet pantry supplies are running low, though, especially our dry dog food. Our pet pantry helps members of both our community, and those who are traveling out of the storm's path, feed the furry members of their family. Tomorrow! We can't wait to see everyone and their pets!

Leon County Humane Society is a local organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and educate people while fostering a community that is kinder for people and their pets. They match you with homeless pets, advocate for animals in need, and teach about responsible pet ownership. Learn more about them and their programs available during our 22nd annual Blessing of Animals on October 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.!

Fosters needed for two special cases!

Some graphic images, but we’re looking for fosters for two dogs in our program.

First up is Mac, a one year old poodle mix. Mac was found on the side of the road and brought to us. As you can see from the pictures, Mac is severely underweight; to the point where he can’t walk for long stretches of time. He will need a long-term foster that will feed him a special diet, give him plenty of time and love to recover, and provide a safe space for him to lay.

Next we have Jules, a three year old basset hound! Jules is also underweight, so she will need plenty of TLC. She is housebroken, crate-trained and an extremely sweet girl to everyone she meets! She gets along with kids, other dogs and cats.
