We had a very special patient recently from the Gulfarium Marine Park in Ft Walton Beach. Sq**rt is 33 years old and was having difficulty walking. She came to us for an MRI to determine the cause of her issue. The good news is that she’s back home, and receiving quality care from their staff veterinarian.

Congratulations to Dr. Sandra MacArthur! She recently completed a three year Surgical Residency program at Capital Veterinary Specialists. She is originally from Panama City Beach, FL. She received her B.S. in Biological Sciences / Certificate in Leadership Studies from Florida State University in 2011, received her Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions in 2016, and graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. After graduation, she completed a companion animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Louisiana State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, a small animal surgery internship, and a small animal orthopedic surgery research fellowship at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. She originally joined Capital Veterinary Specialists for a rotating surgery internship. She sits for her board exam at the beginning of 2027. We’re so incredibly proud of her!

Dr Ryan Devlin, 2nd year surgical resident, gave a continuing education lecture on proper bandaging last night. In the audience, were veterinary assistants and technicians, not only from Capital Veterinary Specialists, but from 6 other hospitals in the Tallahassee area. Our monthly lecture series is open to all the veterinary hospitals in Tallahassee. Call our office for more information if you have staff interested in attending future programs.
