We have some talented friends in our group. We finished up tech week with a pumpkin contest, some vet tech Olympics, Chinese food, and all the laughs.

Thank you SO much to our techs for being the best animal caregivers in the world! 🌎 your dedication is unmatched and we are so grateful to each of you.

Happy Vet Tech Week 2026.

Treat time is also bonding time. 🐱🧡

Did you know that hand feeding your pet occasionally can actually strengthen your bond and build trust, especially with cats who are more reserved?

It also gives you a chance to notice changes in appetite, which can be an early indicator that something is off health wise. 🐾

When you visit your veterinarian, chances are a veterinary technician is there every step of the way. They wear many hats, helping with patient care, treatments, education, and comfort for both pets and their families. This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're shining a spotlight on the skilled, compassionate professionals who make a difference every day.

Join us in celebrating National Veterinary Technician Week by learning more about the incredible people behind so much of your pet's care, and don't forget to thank your vet tech for all they do. ❤️ 🐾

Vet tech day 2 was a hit. ✨

Finished up our gifts, had Panera for lunch, played tech trivia, and started our pumpkin painting. They’re not done so stay tuned for the finale. 🎃

We are so excited to celebrate our staff and they deserve celebration every day of every week to be honest!!

Also - we have appointments available this week so if your pets need their vaccines before holiday boarding or travel, hit us up (and come say hi to our techs!!) 📅

Autumn was made for dogs and they know it. 🍂🐾

Crisp air, crunchy leaves, and a pup who is absolutely living their best life. Fall walks are genuinely one of the best things about having a dog. They make you get outside even when you'd rather stay in and for that we are eternally grateful. 🧡

What's your favorite thing about fall walks with your dog?

Tech week day 1 is in the books.
Chick-fil-a, presents galore, lots of laughs, a silly string fight, and BINGO. 💕

We have the best technicians in the entire world. When asked what they wanted for tech week they mentioned they wanted a towel warmer to help keep patients warm during surgery and recovery. ❤️‍🩹

You heard that right … the gift they wanted for themselves was a gift to help better care for the patients. That’s the definition of a veterinary technician and we are lucky to have so many souls like this at Oakwood!! 🩺

Don’t worry … they got the towel warmer, along with many other things. If you see a technician this week, thank them. We are only as good as we are because of them. 🥹

Packing for a trip and your dog has already made their position very clear. 😂🧳

They are going and that is final. Fall travels hit different when you've got a fluffy co-pilot who absolutely refuses to be left behind.

Is your dog a suitcase saboteur or do they wait patiently by the door? 🐾

Did you know cats can actually sense the season changing before you do? 🍂

Shorter daylight hours trigger shifts in your cat's behavior, appetite, and sleep patterns. You might notice them eating a little more, sleeping longer, or seeking out warmer spots around the house as October sets in. It's completely normal and just their body responding to the change in light. 🐱
