🐾 Pet of the Week: Goose 🐾
This week, we are featuring an adorable little puppy named Goose! Goose was found on the side of the highway by his dad’s sister-in-law, and he went straight up to her! This poor little guy was completely covered in fleas and ticks and was starving.

After being rescued, Goose had a visit to the doctor, a bath, a meal, and went home with his dad to his forever home! Nowadays, Goose is a chill guy who enjoys his squeaky toys, cuddles, taking walks, and going to work with his dad.

While Goose was found by someone who was able to take him home with them, that might not be the case for every pet. If you find a stray cat or dog but are unable to take them home, consider contacting your local animal rescue, shelter, or animal control for guidance. When approaching an unfamiliar animal, remember to use caution and avoid putting yourself or the animal in an unsafe situation. Even if you can't take a stray home yourself, reaching out to someone who can help is a great way to make a difference!

🦜Pet of the Week: King Soloman 🦜
For this week’s special pet, meet King Soloman! King Soloman is a blue and gold macaw who has lived with his family since he was hatched; now he is almost 30 years old. With the right care, these beautiful birds are known to live up to 80 years old, so King Soloman is still in his prime.

When King Soloman is not chatting with visitors, he enjoys copying sounds he hears his mom make and spooking his dad. 👻

Outside of their vibrant colors, macaws are known for their unique facial feather patterns, their strong beaks, and their incredibly loud voices. Each macaw has a feather pattern that’s kind of like a fingerprint. Those black lines around King Soloman’s eyes are actually feathers, and that pattern is unique to only him. In addition, a macaw’s beak is incredibly strong—in some cases, they have been known to bite through wood. This strength gives them the ability to crack even the toughest of nut shells. A macaw's voice can be used for a variety of things and ranges between several volumes. Their voices can be used for everything from bonding to alerting to danger, and occasionally, picking on their owner.

If you’re thinking about adopting one of these beautiful birds, please note that they require a lot of attention and the proper husbandry to truly thrive. They live for a long time, so they will be a lifelong companion, requiring lifelong care.
