💔 Very Sad Update on Skylar’s Litter 💔
This is a heartbreaking update to share.
Skylar’s litter has not been doing well. We have now lost four puppies, with only three remaining. Despite nonstop care, the odds have been stacked against them from the start.
We have been at the vet Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, leaving the puppies there all day to be monitored, examined, and cared for by staff. Skylar herself has been struggling — she is extremely lethargic, suffering from severe diarrhea, and is not producing milk. She has been on Hill’s prescription food, FortiFlora, Lixotinic, and supportive care in hopes of helping her regain strength.
We named the remaining babies Nova, Orion, and Atlas 🤍
Last night, Nova and Atlas seemed to be doing okay, but today they took a turn for the worse.
At the vet:
Nova would not eat
Orion is eating on his own from a bowl 🙏
Since coming home:
Nova has started eating again
Orion continues to eat independently
Atlas must be force-fed small amounts and then quickly falls asleep
We are very worried about Atlas and are unsure if he will make it.
We are feeding every hour, using heating pads, and following veterinary guidance closely. These babies are battling heavy worm loads, no maternal milk, and fragile little bodies. Despite everything — our efforts and our vet’s — there may not be much left to do but hope and pray that this works.
The odds have not been in their favor, but we will continue to do everything possible for as long as they are here with us.
💔 If you are able, please consider donating to help cover mounting medical costs. Every dollar truly matters right now.
Their medical bill is now up to $700 and they are far from in the clear.
