Remember Cosmo! He was a puppy program graduate and now he's come back for a month to prep for his NAVHDA NA while his parents are on a vacation in Poland. I decided to share the video of him while I'm working on early leash cues to show how you deal with a dog who wants to sit with pressure. This is a dog who's been heavily rewarded for sitting so when he is unsure he's going to default to sit. I don't like putting my hands on the dog if possible. So adjustment of pressure on the check cord and collar will net you the results you're looking for.

Pistol Pete was pretty wild when he first came in. All four feet were rarely on the ground at the same time. Let alone try to walk him on a leash without getting your arm je**ed out of the socket. We've been working on leash cues as a precursor to WHOA and he is coming along pretty good. He still gives me the side eye and tries to lean away from the collar pressure, but he is learning that the quickest and easiest way to get out of his situation is just to relax and be calm. I really like this little fella because he learns quickly.
