Sunday is a BIG holiday....it's time to celebrate all the moms in the world!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, pet moms, and caregivers out there! 🌸🐾 We hope your day is filled with love, sunshine, and plenty of cuddles from your furry family members.

As you celebrate, our amazing infographics below include some common flowers and plants that can be toxic to pets, especially cats. A lot of these flowers can easily be found in most premade bouquets so keep an eye out! Please help keep your pets safe by being mindful of floral arrangements brought into the home this weekend. 💐

If you think your pet ate one of these flowers or plants this weekend, call us at (253) 983-1114, head straight to us, or straight to the closest vet ER near you!

Heart disease in pets isn’t always obvious.
Some conditions progress slowly, while others can appear suddenly and become life‑threatening without warning. Early evaluation plays a critical role in protecting both comfort and longevity.

At Summit Veterinary Specialists, our Cardiology team uses advanced diagnostics—including echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound), ECG, and blood pressure monitoring—to accurately diagnose heart disease and guide treatment decisions.

Every care plan is individualized, focusing not just on managing disease, but on maintaining quality of life, mobility, and long‑term comfort for your pet.
If your pet has a heart murmur, breathing changes, coughing, weakness, or fainting—or if you’ve been referred for cardiac evaluation—our specialty team is here to help.

Don’t ignore tummy trouble—some GI issues can turn serious fast.

If your pet won’t stop vomiting, seems uncomfortable or painful in their belly, stops eating, or you think they may have swallowed something like a toy, sock, or trash, it’s important to act quickly.

These signs can worsen faster than many pet parents expect, and waiting too long can lead to more serious (and costly) complications.

If you’re worried, don’t wait. Bring your pet directly to our Emergency Room or call ahead so our team can be ready to help. Early care can make all the difference.

Emergencies don’t wait for the right time. Our Emergency and Critical Care teams are available around the clock to provide immediate care when pets need it most.

If your pet is injured, suddenly unwell, or showing concerning symptoms, you can come directly to our ER or call for guidance.

Care begins the moment you arrive.

Spring is in full swing, and Easter is a great time to enjoy a little extra time outdoors with your pets.

As you celebrate, keep an eye on common holiday items like candy, decorative grass, and seasonal plants that pets may try to nibble on.

A little awareness can go a long way in keeping the day safe and stress-free for everyone.

Wishing you and your pets a peaceful and happy Easter. 🐾💛
