🐾 WHISKERS WEDNESDAY: MEET EMBER! 🐾

This beautiful little tuxedo girl is looking for a home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and right where she belongs. ❤️

Ember is just 1 year old, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations.

She’s a shy sweetheart who needs a little patience and time to build trust. Unfortunately, Ember was bullied by another cat in her previous home, so we’re hoping to find her a gentle, understanding family.

She seems to do okay around dogs and other cats, but a calm home where she can settle in at her own pace would be ideal. She may especially enjoy being someone’s one-and-only kitty. 🥰

Sometimes the quietest little souls have the biggest love to give. ❤️

📏🐾 INTRODUCING THE FRED SYSTEM OF MEASUREMENT! 👑

Around Countryside, we’ve decided that inches, feet, and yards are terribly overrated.

We have a much more distinguished unit of measurement.
The Fred. 🐈

After extensive scientific research (and the cooperation of one very substantial feline), we can officially announce:
📏 1 Fred = 37 inches, measured from nose to tail tip.

Which means…
🐕 An English Mastiff? Approximately 3 Freds long.
🩺 An exam table? Roughly 1½ Freds.
🚗 An average car? About 5 Freds.
And Fred himself?
One magnificent Fred. 👑

All measurements are approximate. Fred reserves the right to nap during further research.

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her, we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Catherine Moreau! 🥰🐾

Dr. Moreau is one of our wonderful relief veterinarians who lends us an extra set of helping hands when our schedule gets especially busy. We’re so fortunate to have her as part of our extended Countryside family!♥️

She’s knowledgeable, compassionate, and an absolute delight to work with. We love her, and as you can see, she’s even earned Fred’s official seal of approval! 😹❤️

Apparently, fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes have a group chat. 🦟📱

And we have some unfortunate news for them: the buffet is CLOSED. 😏

Cooler weather may have us reaching for sweatshirts, but fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes don’t look at the calendar and say, “Welp, that’s a wrap, everybody. See you in the spring!”

Fleas can find their way into warm homes. Ticks can remain active during surprisingly cool weather. And mosquitoes—and the heartworm risk they carry—don’t necessarily disappear with the first chilly day.

So don’t let your pet’s prevention take a fall break. 🍂

Keep up with year-round flea, tick, and heartworm prevention as recommended by Dr. P for your pet. 🐾♥️🐾

Well… apparently some of us owe our dogs an apology for thinking they were just being dramatic. 😂🐾

Dogs may not say “I’m sorry” the way we do, but they certainly have their own ways of trying to smooth things over — puppy eyes, a paw on your leg, bringing you a favorite toy, or suddenly becoming very sweet after a questionable life choice. 😇

Of course, every dog communicates a little differently, and some of these behaviors can mean different things depending on the dog and the situation.

So tell us, Countryside Pack: does your doggo run off with the toilet paper roll? Steal the neighbor’s yard gnome? Crash out in Dad’s chair right before he sits down EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.? 😂

And more importantly… what did they do that required the apology? 😂👇

🐾🎉 We made it to Fri-YAY! 🐾🎉

We heard around the clinic that making it through another week deserves a round of a-paws! 👏🐾 And around here, we’re always happy to celebrate the little victories. 🥂

What do you call a dog that can do magic? A Labracadabrador. 🪄🐶

We’re not naming names, but we’ll give you one guess which veterinarian might appreciate that one. 😏😂

Whether your weekend includes adventures, naps, snacks, or staring at your humans until they let you out one more time or share their cheese… we hope it’s a good one.

🎃🐾 IT’S OFFICIALLY SPOOKY SEASON AT COUNTRYSIDE! 👻

Renee and Sam are getting into the spirit, Sulley and Mocha have joined the costume crew, and our patients are beginning to question some of our decisions. 😝

Around here, we take Halloween very seriously.

Squishie, however, does not. 😂
She would like it formally noted that she sacrificed her dignity for this post and was placed in an oversized Countryside shirt against her better judgment. 😂

Biased or not, we think she wears it well. And you can too! Custom Countryside swag is available for purchase in our clinic lobby. 🐾♥️
