Not fulfilling your dog’s needs for exercise, discipline, and affection.
Whether your dog is incredibly high-energy or a lump that prefers to lay around, he needs structure to stay balanced. What this means can vary from breed to breed and dog to dog, but you always need to provide exercise, discipline, and affection. And stay consistent. For best results, you should have a schedule for your dog’s meals, work, and playtime.

You can make use of your dogs favorite toy (or treat) when it comes to working with your dog. Do not allow free access to it. When you are working with your dog (and working on training homework) use the toy as a reward at the end of the training time. I like to time a release word (ex. Done) to end training with Jase and then give the toy. This is one option to help associate training/working positively. If things are going a little chaotic during your time working with your dog have your dog sit or do something it knows to do...end on a positive note (do not give a toy then). Take a break and you both can calm down and start back up again.

Dogs being possessive can take many forms. Early signs to look for are the body language stiffening when you or another animal comes around your dog with the object. Another sign is the expression will change looking around warily. They will have the object between their front feet, head over it, or one foot on top of the object. Again these are the early warning signs. Thr next step is them growling and warning you away. Please let me know if I can be of assistance helping with this issue. Depending on what your dog is being possessive over....there are many options to address this issue but it MUST be addressed. Just one way for food pocession is to hold the food bowl while your dog is eating and practice raising and lowering the dish and taking it away slowly. Do not feed or give treats when your dog is in an excited state of mind. That will reward and intensify the excitement. Don't worry. Possessive issues can be worked through. Stay calm.
