Update on Rory (hound who was attacked) she’s doing much better, recovering in her foster home. We are hopeful this turns into a permanent home❤️ Thank you to everyone who donated; we raised $450 towards her vet care. We still need to raise $650 more.

Oscar is classically trained in being a great dog. He’s a sturdy, low rider, low-energy love bug. He was totally shut down when he was first brought in the shelter by Animal Control, after having been found living in an abandoned house. It took him a few weeks to feel safe, but after several weeks of walks and love, he has really blossomed. Please share so we can find him a home. 🏡 🐶

SAS would like to recognize and thank Diana and Warren Hopson ❤️ they do so much for our shelter but jsut recently Diana picked up Marshmallow from her spay surgery and Warren installed handles on our van to help loading and unloading easier and much safer. Thank you both so much!!

Nothing puts a pep in the dogs’ step like a pup cup! A big thank you to Tonya, Janice and Pam for setting up a pup cup treat station for the shelter dogs during Volunteer Dog Walking yesterday! This sweet treat was a great way to beat the heat. 🍦

Don’t forget — you can join us each Saturday, any time from 9am-11am to help walk and socialize the dogs!

Dog is your co-pilot? 🚗 🐶 Join our transport group! We are in need of volunteers who can help us transport dogs and sometimes cats to vet appointments. If you’d like to join our Facebook messenger group where we post transport requests, shoot us a message!

Most of the requests are for local vet clinics, but occasionally we do have a need for transport to Irondale or Pelham for spay neuter appointments. Thank you!
